This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
it looks like it always happens on Mondays !!!!!!!!!!!!!! nothing was reported yesterday...Ah I am tired of waiting 🙁
I think there’s a good chance we may hear something tomorrow or a Friday...

Why do you say that? Based on past years' trends?
Yeah, in 2016-2017 there were reports on: 5/17, 5/19, 5/30 and in 2017-2018 it was: 5/15, 5/21... but who knows this year? Seems like things will be heavier in June than normal. It would be useful to know how many people in the fb group are current students...

I'm actually revising my prediction... I'm thinking that instead of looking at past years trends, maybe it's just ~7 days since the last waitlist offer (so we should expect something the 20th?)... <- this conspiracy theory was developed by me and fellow waitlister...

I'm also thinking we may be looking at a bigger wave soon as it seems like other T20 schools have finally started moving (an adcom mentioned Harvard and Yale specifically on another thread) and some CTE deadlines are in early June... so the class and the waitlist should shrink a bit hopefully.

This is such weird cycle... stay hopeful friends!!! If you need some extra support PM me!

I, for one, am sticking with my prediction of the 1st of Neveruary.

I’ve always wondered why WashU has such a low yield despite great ranking + financial aid generosity? Does it all come down to being in St Louis?

Probably a combination of a similar accepted pool to other top institutions and location, losing out over location. Also financial aid is pretty generous elsewhere too.

My personal drawbacks were:
- The negative impact that will result from the curriculum change
- St. Louis
- Cost (I got more money elsewhere)
- The vibe was a bit odd
- I don't care much about rank. Plus, people who do care about rank might be bothered by the fact that WashU's prestige isn't well-recognized by the layman

Still though, incredibly grateful to have this amazing school as an option. I'd be more than happy to attend

7 more students were added to the Facebook group in the past few days. I guess some of the offers are not being reported here or elsewhere...

Accepted!! International Student. Half Tuition Scholarship. Thank God!!!!! What's the name of the Facebook Group?
congrats!!!

here is the facebook group

oh well. we got to the end of it. I don't think there is going to be any WL movement by now. it is a little too late and I can't put my life on hold just waiting and hoping, I am done. I know I won't be selected because I wasn't one of their first choices when they extended their offers. so Good luck everybody

It is not over yet

there is total silence... last year the last WL movement was around late May and that was it, the year before there was some WL movement till mid June.
Realistically, it probably is over for any given person on the waitlist, but most of us were probably screwed from the start because that's just how the numbers work. That said, someone was accepted last weekend, so I don't know if I'd call it total silence, especially with how little SDN threads correlate with real life. Regardless, giving up hope on any single waitlist is probably the wise choice, as getting your hopes up for an increasingly slim chance is probably not good for your health.

how many LOI's is considered too much at this point in your opinion folks

I can't imagine sending more would help particularly much. I'm of the opinion that our fate is largely determined at this point. They've got all they need to evaluate you from applications and interviews, so I can't imagine additional letters would give them anything new -- other than perhaps giving off the impression that you're desperate. IDK though dude.

Any recent acceptances off the waitlist?
three more people got added to the Facebook group in the past three days... I assume they were selected off the wait-list but I can't confirm it though

I don't know why people assume that new adds to FB are because of movement off of WLs. People come on to FB at various times for different reasons. Often, adds are enrolled students who there for various reasons including looking to share/sublets apartments.
I said " I can't confirm it though" there is no way to tell when you are not part of the group for sure who are these students. one thing for sure, the group has 212 they can't all be first year students.
