anyone who quotes my man Marcus in his signature is a total G, and we're all rooting for you : ) congrats dude
@u_raptor save some IIs for the rest of us bro!
@peanuttbuttah stole the words out of my mouth.
Always nice to see someone else familiar with him! He is my philosophical role model!

And LOL, I promise my intention was not to hog up anything! I was grateful for just one, and similarly so for each I have received so far.

If you are taking time off between college graduation and medical school matriculation, please tell us in no more than four sentences what you are doing during this gap, and why.
Gap Year

Ive already taken a couple of gap years and now in the midst of one (until matriculation next fall).
Should I summarize what Ive done or what I will be doing? Seems like the latter. Can someone pls confirm? Thanks

Wanted to know if anyone thinks 1,500 characters too short for the "any additional" information essay? It says around 3,500 characters, but I literally cannot write anymore lmfao

It is available for all 5 years. In the fourth year, your research PI provides the stipend from their grant (just as he/she would a PHD student) as opposed to CCLCM providing the stipend in the other four years. So funding is secured (if you receive one) for all 5 years. Hope it helps.
Interesting. Someone was talking about student loans because it is not available that way.

Does anyone know how holistic case western is? And whether or not it favors nontraditional applicant?

I received this app about 2.5 weeks ago. How strict are with their 2 week turn around time? Am I dead in the water if I didn't get it in within 2 weeks?

You are fine.

N=1, but I'm a nontrad in multiples senses (ancient one, non-science major, mixed ECs, life experience) and they invited me to interview...
Also N=1, I am nontrad in multiple senses (prior military, have a child, like...3 years older than most my peers?) and I have not had an II.
also N=1, have an II and non-trad (kind of a career changer, several years out of college, serves the dark lord Cthulhu, etc.)
I am nontrad with no II.

So n = 4. Two nontrads have II. Two nontrads do not. p > 0.05. Fail to reject the null hypothesis. No significant difference between groups.

I'm non-trad (I have a master's from them) with no II so n=5. And therefore we would reject the null hypothesis.
But what was the original hypothesis?

That Case "favors non-traditional applicants." Collecting anecdotal data from this year's applicants isn't the best way of testing this hypothesis. Actually, this hypothesis isn't very testable in general, which makes it a pretty poor hypothesis.

But, looking at MSAR, they have a good number of students older than 23, so I think it is reasonable to conclude that they are relatively friendly towards non-traditional applicants.

WE would also have to define the term “non-traditional.” From my perspective, taking a gap year or two does not make one a non-trad. Having significant and sustained real world experience defines a non-trad...

I too would love to know. I already scheduled my university program II 🙁
Showing my neuroticism here but last year, the first college program II’s were sent on August 10th. Hopefully they’re running on a similar schedule and we’ll start hearing from CCLC this week!

I’m praying to the premed gods again.

“Oh great Atul Gawande, AAMC Cars QPACK1 Picasso passage, Organic chemistry as a second language - please bless us with a bountiful harvest of interview Invites during these darkest of times. May your blessed milk of eternal premed aspiration flow through the veins of this admissions cycle like a great river of promise! In the name of the Surgeon, the hospitalist, and the holy ROAD. In Kaplan’s name, ah man...I found a typo”
