2019-2020 Chicago Med at Rosalind Franklin

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Standard MMI interview. There are 3 groups and you will rotate between interviews, tour, and student panel. Informal lunch at the end with the interviewers. Definitely form your own impression on the interview day, it’s not my first choice but I I would happily attend if I get in. Students really love it and their match lists are impressive!

Do you know what time the interview day ends?

1pm! The last event is casual lunch from 12-1 and I think you can leave whenever. We ran about 20-30 minutes behind on my interview day so I left a little before 1, but most people stayed probably later.

Thank you so much for the information! I am interviewing on Tuesday 🙂

Just spent 4 hours wandering around Waukegan and North Chicago, AMA. (Also interviewing tomorrow, will be nervous looking white dude)

how is the area
It's pretty suburban- the one thing I will say is that it isn't really friendly to walking around, I think that not having a car would be a large detriment. I like walkled across a couple highways and some areas I definitely wasn't supposed to be walking. I think it would be a really interesting patient population though, and there's a rather large hospital literally attached to the campus

My man asking the only important question here
P/F? Match list? Average step? doesn't matter to me

Nearby chipotle? #1 choice

Anyone who’s interviewed already know when they’ll start releasing decisions?

Honestly, the associate dean told me we can hear back anytime before next August. They said if we do not hear back, we are still being considered. But if they wanted to reject us, they would outright do it

Hey y'all sorry to just jump into your thread like this. I looked through all 7 pages this years and didn't seen a diffinitve answer on this school's stance on ITAs. Has anyone had any experience with this? Sorry if I missed it / it has been already asked this year.

I'd love to know the answer to this!

The school is not receptive to pre-interview emails except those pertaining to Institutional Action, Felony, Misdemeanor or Military Discharge explanations. They receive over 12k applications/year so they just don't have the time to make special exceptions for anyone.

That’s fair but loyola receives 15k and they are receptive ! But I do understand.

does anyone know if they call or email with acceptance or waitlist info? I know this is overly ambitious but since oct. 15 is right around the corner and I interviewed on the first day all this anticipation is killing me and I just want to know if I should be glued to my phone the next week or not

It was via email my year. I would guess decisions will still be sent the same way, but I can't say for sure.

anyone know when the 9/3 interviewers might hear back? last years thread looked like first acceptances came out a week after october 15th but i’m wondering if anyone asked while they were there this year? gotta stop refreshing my email every 10 mins

What's the reputation of CMS/RFU? Their 2019 match list is pretty astonishing for an unranked school....

Congrats to everyone!! I’m planning on applying next cycle and was wondering if the people who were accepted would post their status?? Thanks!

Congrats to all accepted!!!
Question- so I am filling out the declaration of intent as it has to be done within 15 days, and it specifically says that the deposit is non-refundable. I thought that all schools had to have a refundable deposit before April 30? or am I wrong..
