Yeah I know, I'm just worried that I haven't heard back yet about the secondary. Did anyone receive any sort of verification from them after submitting your primary via AMCAS? The following is the prompt for their secondary right:

  • During your career as a physician, you will potentially encounter many obstacles and be required to overcome many challenges. Resilience is a prerequisite for success in medical school and beyond. Describe your experience with a situation that had an unfavorable outcome. How did you react, and how might you have responded differently? What did you learn about yourself?
  • Kaiser Permanente is nationally recognized for its achievements in the realm of equity, inclusion, and diversity. How will you contribute to the diversity of Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine?
  • Lifelong learning is an essential process for continues professional development in physicians that includes reflection and being open and responsive to constructive feedback. Tell us about an area of intellectual exploration you are passionate about and have sustained over time. What means have you used to explore this area?

Those are the prompts. Some people got it right away, others had to wait a few days to a week. If you don't get it by next week, give them a call. At the end of the day, this school is SUCH a crap shoot (there will only be 48 students in the first class).

Yeah seems like most people applying here are those with MCAT Scores of 510 +, my score is nowhere near that hah.

If you check @limeyguydr 's interview tracker, you'll see that there have been people with MCAT scores well below 510 who have interviewed here. Nobody really knows what they're looking for...

Okay, cool thanks for that. Did you receive any sort of confirmation from Kaiser after submitting your primary application via AMCAS, or no?

Relax, home slice!

I'm way below 510....closer to 500.....I'm still shooting my shot. I was also late in the game as you with my MCAT. I didn't get any emails about my primary, but got my secondary within a week of my score being out.

the FAQ on the secondary portal also confirms this:
"File reviews will be conducted on a rolling basis between July 2019 and February 2020. We will send offers of admission on a rolling basis. For our inaugural class, this will occur between November 2019 and March 2020."
 
Anyone else interviewing tomorrow? Just got to the hotel they’re putting us up in and wow it’s gorgeous. Hopefully a good indication for what the school can offer!
 
Do you guys think the school would be amenable to ITA requests?

They’re rolling admissions but they said they’ve received way more applications than they were anticipating so they can’t give a concrete timeline. Second look day is end of March (the 27th if I recall correctly) so I’d imagine final decisions to be posted before then at the latest.

it seems as if it’s only Thursday’s. I got my II in early Sept And wasn’t able to schedule until 10/17
 
Anyone with insight on how many applicants they are interviewing? I just received an II, but I feel like KP might be out of my league. Just trying to get a feel for the odds I'm up against/ if it's worth attending.

they said they’re interviewing through feb/March with 25 applicants each day. I Would guess 500-600ish interviews for48 slots...

but shoot your shot. At least the hotel is paid for!

Nice, congrats! Are they still offering December dates? And when was your app complete? Just trying to gauge if my app has been passed by (if looking chronologically). Thanks!

It's probably not chronological, I've been complete since early July and I don't believe they've even looked at my app yet.
 
My application has been "complete and awaiting review" since 8/05. Should I call them?

App complete late July... yes there was a December date (singular) available lol
 
For those of you who have interviewed, do you have to specify if you need a hotel accommodation on the pre-interview form? The wording of the page kind of makes it sound like they've already set everything up and you just have to check in the day before...
