What does a hold mean at this college?
All I know is that it is a hold to get an interview. I am not sure if they put everyone on hold instead of handing out Rs. I haven't seen very many Rs, so I am under the impression they put a lot of people on hold and will reject them all later. Anyone else have anymore insight?

definitely a large pool of holds. unsure if it’s a soft R. considering they end interviews mid-March I’m guessing we could get an interview if space opens up by others withdrawing. I’m non-IE as well so that probably played a factor in my hold.

Is “hold” a soft “R”? They said their interview cycle would conclude in mid-March. It is already mid-February...

This is now a total of 15 pre-Ii holds, updated a few hours after they sent the email by the few of us commenting on sdn. Could you imagine how many they sent out in reality?

Hold as well, they sent me the secondary in Nov. so pretty much knew this was a donation...

To those on hold, don't lose hope! their timeline for acceptances seems to be longer than many other schools so there is still time to get off that waitlist! To us still waiting in silence, crossing my fingers we hear something this week! :xf:

when the hold gang is the only thing keeping you up

UCR receives around 5500 applications, Interviews around 250, accepts approximately 125 to fill a class of 70.

Have people submitted update letters? If so, through portal or email? I'm getting an error on the portal.

Interview invite on 2/10 around noon... does anyone know about what % of their interviewees they offer seats in the class to?

Congrats! Around 50% for normal applicants and 55% for haider. Are you a haider applicant?

Hold as well lol, thought there might have been a chance until I checked here and saw all the other holds
Completed mid-August. With a wave of holds, I'm confused if NOT getting a hold email supposed to be a good thing or bad thing. Is 'no new = a good news' still valid at this moment...
Did you already interview or is this a pre-interview hold?
