does anyone's else portal say this:

"Your file is now complete. At this point we have received all the necessary credentials including your secondary application and your letters of recommendation in order for your application to be reviewed. While the committee works diligently to review applications in a timely manner, please be aware that in order to do a thorough review of your file it may be sometime until you hear from us again."
Yep. I believe I was complete on the 19th, so almost 2 weeks ago now.

How long did it take to receive GW's secondary from time of submission?

It depends, because they can send it when you’re unverified. I got mine the Monday after the official first wave transmission date before I was verified.

Seeing people with high stats be put on hold and me having mediocre stats not receive anything yet...I think that fat R is going to come

To be fair, looking at the stats of people offered IIs to George Washington last year, looks like they yield protect a little bit. Most of the people I saw that got IIs last year had stats around their median - didn't see a lot of IIs for high stat applicants.

prolly a dumb question but what does this question mean on their secondary: Have you ever registered at an institution under a different name?

is it asking if we ever matriculated at another medical school, or if we attended multiple undergrads, etc?

i'm guessing it's just if you've changed your name for any reason (marriage for example)

I'm a current MS2 at GW and you can only be in one scholarly concentration, but most meetings and lectures are open to everyone, so you can attend seminars even if you aren't in the corresponding concentration.

@TarHeelMD? hey! how was the interview process? Do you have any tips/suggestions for interview prep? Thanks!!

Does anyone know if the question about most meaningful clinical experience to date is talking about a broad experience (like a single job, volunteering position, etc. that I held) or about a specific experience with a patient that was meaningful to me.

I personally used a single experience with a patient, but I think the question could be interpreted either way.

That's what I was thinking I would do as well, but I'm finding it hard to cram a whole experience with a patient into 350 characters.

This is great to know!

has anyone gotten an R or heard about any going out?

@TarHeelMD? one question if you get the chance to answer! Do you think it's important to answer the first question "Please provide the Admissions Committee with a brief summary of your activities, academics, employment or other occupations to account for full-time activity..." in full sentences? Or is listing/resume style (not full sentences) OK if you're doing multiple things/it's a lot to write?

Interviews at GW are pretty conversational! The interviewer is really trying to get to know you and assess if you would be a good fit. There aren't trick questions to purposefully make you stumble. Be prepared for the interview and be able to show why you would be a good fit at GW, but a ton of prep probably isn't necessary!

I think listing is fine. You still want it to look professional, but ultimately quality content is more important than formating in paragraph style.

Put on hold today, submitted 7/25. 3.6 GPA/511 MCAT. Still no R though so remaining hopeful. Good luck to everyone!!

Everyone who is worried that their status is "on hold", don't worry about it or think into it too much. During the virtual information session with the head of admissions, he said that being placed "on hold" just means that your application is going to another person to be reviewed. He says that applications are reviewed (usually) by multiple people. I wouldn't read too much into it!

Your application to The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences is complete and has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee. To date, no final decision has been made and the Admissions Committee has placed your application on hold for re-review at a later date. Files are re-reviewed by the committee periodically and there is no set schedule for decisions. We do interview from August through March. Please feel free to update your file during this time using the GW Admissions Portal. If we require any further documentation or if your status changes, we will contact you immediately. We do sincerely appreciate your interest in our program. Thank you for your patience.

Does anyone else have this status?

Tons of us. Essentially, you are on-hold.
