Someone asked in my interview and, if I recall correctly, the answer was "no" unless you took a leave of absence and worked full-time or something. Basically, the rules in Iowa were very restrictive for establishing residency. But fin aid tries to make OOS COA similar to IS COA by being very generous with their OOS aid.

IS II this morning as well. The secondary was given 09/25. 512, 3.85sGPA, 3.92cGPA.

They had spots open from early November, I think they interview Monday/Wednesday/Friday.

Good luck to everyone else applying to Iowa, it's a fantastic school.

Congrats! When were you verified?

Thanks, I submitted my application on 07/21 and was verified on 09/01. It took a while to get everything verified. They still have all of November left, so don't worry if it's taking a while for everything to get processed.

Received my secondary today after getting verified on 9/11. Just want yo update for those who are still waiting.

Finished 9/3, completion email 9/11. GPA 3.74, MCAT 517. November and December dates available for people who are panicking.

Hello! Post interview, does anyone know what % of people receive a response quickly vs. being punted to March?

forgot to post but interviewed last week and it was such a friendly, relaxed interview day. I would 10000% recommend not stressing too hard about this interview, very positive experience. even tho its in the middle of nowhere iowa kinda talk no jutsu'd its way into my heart

Currently an M1 at CCOM and I agree with this. I was a re-applicant, did exactly what they told me to do and I got in. PM if you have questions. Goodluck!
im curious what they told you to do? like, they gave you interview tips? or they told you specific areas of your application that need improvement?

this school doesn't send secondary complete emails, right?

Does your portal show that you are complete? I've submitted everything but my portal still shows incomplete. I think once it gets updated on the portal then we will get a complete email.

Edit: just got the complete email.

Anyone know if they're going to start sending acceptances 10/15 (this week Thursday!!!)? I wonder how far up in the interview dates they'll give out acceptances.

Can confirm from interview day the director of admissions said there will be acceptances on 10/15. I think there is just a pile of applicants that have interviewed and they do not review chronologically, so as long as you’ve interviewed by last week I’d say you have a shot for acceptance.

Do we know if Iowa is gonna start sending results tomorrow?

anyone know if people that interviewed on 9/25 could hear anything today? I wrote down in my notes on interview day "6 weeks to hear back" but I couldn't remember if that was the soonest or the latest or if I misunderstood altogether

I guess we might have to wait until end of today. Based on last year's thread I think everyone who interviewed by the end of September heard back on the 15th of October.

That's good to know, thanks. I was trying to see which time of day people had begun posting on last year's thread for Carver (neurotic, I know) but it appears that SDN doesn't display that info.

They made sure to reiterate at my interview they do not review apps chronologically. So someone who interviewed in September does have a better chance of hearing today, but they could also not know anything until the final pool.
Take an example of @Zen Arcade who interviewed in the first batch last year and was waitlisted in March.

Ah, I see. Thanks for letting me know. I thought they updated pretty quickly.

Yep, interviewed early September, waitlisted in March, and accepted late May last year. Congrats to those of you accepted today! For those still waiting - hang in there. Its a long an grueling processes, but in the end you will get an answer and be able to make decisions at that time. Until then, try your best to distract yourself and enjoy your time out of med school!

Thanks for the reply here and hope M1 is going well, I had to quote your experience because it was so wild seeing you go from WL to accepted a few months ago lol, was the comeback story I needed while studying for the MCAT.
