Don't worry about the asshat who responded to you.

To answer your question, yeah, it's basically a waiting game. Depending on the school, you may or may not be allowed to send an update letter if you don't hear about an interview.

The wait is, indeed, long and scary, but you are not missing anything. Just make sure you are checking your spam and trash folders periodically in case school emails end up there for some reason (it happened to me twice this cycle). Also, sometimes you can glean insights into where different schools are in their respective admissions processes through what others post on here. Just hang in there-- you're doing great! 🙂

+1 I’m beyond excited and this was so unexpected! Complete end of July, OOS but ties to the Bay. Does anyone know more about the interview format for both the PSTP program and the MD program?
 
Does anyone know if they've released other dates (not 10/21 or 10/30)? I had originally scheduled for 10/30, but now have to reschedule 🙁
 
For those who received PSTP invites, is there going to be an invitation via portal as well? And is vita being used (I assume yes). But all I got is the direct email from PSTp team
 
How was the 1:1 interview? Was it laid back and conversational or did they go over rapid fire questions? How long was it?

My stats are also pretty trash. 513, 3.70 / secondary submitted 8/18 / and I have no idea what sizes is referring to here / both an ORM and URM (non-trad, veteran, and an old fart).

There is hope after all! Early July submissions so I hope they haven't gone over my app and discarded it. Stanford is one of my top choices !!!

For anyone who interviewed for PSTP, it seems like we're only being considered for MD-PSTP and not for MD-only. Did anyone else get that vibe too?

In case you have to know haha. Tiny and very tight, like buttons about to pop off tight. Small fitting clothes, clothes that fits 6 year olds.

Why did you get that vibe? Have PSTP interview coming up. Also is PSTP capped at certain number of people. Seems like just a separate track with split curriculum

I'm not sure, so don't worry too much!! I was emailed and told we would be considered for both, but we're only interviewed for PSTP so I was wondering how MD admissions would be able to consider us if they haven't directly interviewed us.

I see, thank you so much for the feedback!! I assume the PSTP interviews cover the same things as the MD interviews (plus the research focus), so they’re able to evaluate for both with one interview.
 
Does anyone know how I can check to see which school called me for an interview? I got a VITA but I don't know which school it is. How do I check?
 
@justrandomthings I'm pretty sure you're supposed to get the hi revue invite (doesn't say which school) and an AAMC email that does list the schools. the AAMC one is sent on Thursdays so maybe it didn't come through today but will next Thurs?

The AAMC sends an email on Thursdays ("AAMC VITA Status Update") naming any schools that have requested your VITA in the last week. The first time, it comes separately from the initial VITA invite.

each school has their own deadline, usually 2-4 weeks after invite. I would just do it as soon as you feel ready within the next 2 weeks if I were you

My email said 2 weeks after the invitation date (not the vita invitation the stanford invitiation)

I just got a vita notification w/stanford added to the distribution list...im guessing this = interview invite?
 
Did everyone who got a VITA update including Stanford also get an email from them confirming the II? Just wondering because I just got the VITA update, but no email from Stanford yet!

Yeah I am confused. All I got was the VITA notification. I didn't get an II in my email, nor is there an II indicated in my Stanford portal.
 
I'm pretty sure when you get VITA, that is an interview invite too. You have to go in the admissions portal and choose a 1:1 interview date as well. Earliest available for me was Nov 18th.

I really do hope that VITA = interview invite.

But... what if VITA is just another screening process? What if they watch the VITA and *then* decide whether to send an II? I really hope that's not the case, because my VITA was nothing spectacular.
 
got a VITA invite but has the 1:1 interview shown up for anyone on the portal? haven't got the interview

I'm pretty certain that if they asked you for VITA, they are also asking for an II unless I was a special case. Check your admissions portal, as you may need to schedule an interview date.

+1 to having Stanford added to my VITA list but not interview email or option to schedule an interview on my portal. Seems to be a suspiciously large number? Not to rain on anyone's parade.

I got VITA invite but haven't completed it yet. My portal doesn't show anything new though. Maybe I have to complete it first?

An interview tab appeared for me under 'Stanford Supplemental Application.' The 'schedule interview' page was one of the sub-tabs under that tab.
 
Stanford is also my first school that needs VITA, so maybe that's why? I got an email directly from Stanford admissions too saying I had been chosen for an interview as well as the AAMC VITA.
