2020-2021 Stanford

for some reason it feels like... a lot of people who interviewed at Stanford this round. I wonder if they'll release any metrics but I almost feel like they really cast a broad net for interviews. Looks like I'm not the only one who's only interviewed at Stanford and gotten R'd (4) or "waiting" (12) for most schools... this is tearing my brain apart.
Previous person said that stanford said they are interviewing "south of 500"
During my interview day they said the same thing, less than 500.

Sorry if this was already answered before, but are interviews open or closed file?

Open; my interviewer said they only gave like 10 minutes to look at the file before hand but that doesn't seem to be the case for others?

open file. mine was fairly specific to 1-2 of my activities.

Is the faculty interview the last part of the interview day? Or does it vary. Also how long before did they send you an email regarding the schedule for the day? I’m kinda nervous about missing an email lol.

There's a tiny wrap up info session after the interview itself and a med student Q&A that ends the day. You should get a schedule around 4-5 days before your interview (at least that's when mine came around). You'll also get an RSVP to attend a pre-interview social.

Thanks a lot!! I got the social email but nothing else which is why I was asking.

It’s hard to believe they’re given only 10 min! I felt like my interviewer knew me inside and out 😳

Update: my other interview turned into a WL. Looking more and more likely that Stanford’s decision will determine whether or not I’ll have to reapply. If y’all pray, I’d really appreciate a quick mention of me in your prayers 🙂 I will do the same for you, regardless.
A WL could turn into an A! Don't lose hope, especially this cycle.

I know there are interviews 1/22 and 1/27 based on the dates they showed when I got an II. I didn't check into February, but maybe decisions are coming out after those? But then again, their website says they have three decision release dates from January-March so I'd be more inclined to expect January interviews to hear back in February rather than at the end of January. Who knows?

To add-on, I interviewed this month for PSTP and was told to expect decisions late February (no promises though). Granted, this is after review from both the PSTP and MD committees, so YMMV.
