Did they say when we should expect to hear back after interview? Or is it rolling admissions where one person can hear back two weeks after and another might have to wait much longer after their interview?
They didn't say when we would hear back but I can tell you I interviewed 10/16 and haven't heard a single thing since... so there's that! lol

On the Interview Day documents (page 2), they said that it will typically take 3 to 5 weeks. For me, it took 4 weeks. But, from the ongoing trends, it can range from 4 to 8+ weeks. Really hard to estimate when you will hear back.

Wait, so sorry 10/16. I'm stupid. My bad guys. False alarm

SMH. I had at least 2 heart attacks since. haha. but nah its all good fam. thanks for the correction! Now we continue to anxiously wait.

This is what I thought too. Hopefully some time in the next week or two (I'm a 11/13er). It will be amazing to hear back before the holidays / end of the year.

Congrats to both of you!

Thank you! 🙂 I don't mean to re-open old wounds, but I believe you are a re-applicant to TUSOM who was on AR last year right? Last year, how long did you wait to hear from TUSOM regarding the decision? Just hoping to give applicants some perspective before and during pandemic.

Haha the wounds been open fam! But yes, I was Waitlisted/Acceptance Ranged last cycle.

I was an odd case in that I was not complete until mid October once my MCAT from September came back.

I did not get my II until January, 1 week prior to the interview date. So I had to scramble with 6 days to prep.

I got WL/AR about Mid March (~6-7 week wait). I was hoping to get off that WL/AR like many of us. Unfortunately, I did not but now we here. Hoping this time around it is a full A.

This does give some credence to the idea those of us with later applications actually have some possibility of an interview. I hope this cycle is working out better for you!

Thank you! I actually was accepted 2 weeks ago elsewhere and still in disbelief. So I am eternally grateful that i will become a doctor, regardless of where I go, and thats all that matters. But Tulane has always been a dream and I feel so ever close this time around.

I feel better knowing you did end up with an II later on. I would love the chance interview here. 🙂 Congrats on your acceptance. You'll be a fantastic doctor, Tulane or no Tulane.

Congratulations on your acceptance! And I'm glad you see my perspective! I'm an international student (Canadian), so I know my chances of getting another interview are slim. So like you, I'm eternally grateful for my A. I look forward to calling you colleague, whether it'd be at Tulane or not 🙂

Has anyone gotten an II after receiving "Hold for Possible Interview" lately? Did you send an update letter?

n=1. I was privileged to receive an II after my file was under review (never on hold), which became an A. I did send monthly update letters to Tulane to advise them on my current activities and achievements.

congrats! What was your GPA/MCAT?

Thank you! 3.85/512. As my signature indicates, I'm also considered an international applicant at Tulane, because I reside in Canada.

Just curious, could you share a bit by the type of information sent in monthly updates? I sent one last month and planned on another in the spring. I would like to send another one this month, but I don’t know what could be included so it doesn’t sound like fluff/empty? Or is just expressing interest ok?

I saw somewhere that Tulane does not like receiving letters of interest but do take updates on their portal? can someone speak to that? 🙂

Haha, your compliments are too kind 🙂

I've never heard that Tulane does not like receiving letters of interest. I reason that since they give us the option to upload updates, I figure to provide periodic updates and convey continued interest. My situation might be unique, as I'm in the final stages of wrapping up my PhD thesis and I'm quite active in my community. So, I updated them on my 1st author pubs, some scholarships I've won, virtual abstract and poster presentations and updates on activities that I've stated on my AMCAS application. I end with 1-2 paragraphs on specific programs at Tulane that I'm interested in and how I can use my experiences to help Tulane achieve their goals.

Again, n=1 and there have been some opposing viewpoints on whether or not to send update letters and whether they impact the final decision.

I sent an update 3 weeks before I got the II, and ended up with an A. I discussed summer job + new leadership role on campus and intertwined both of those into my fit for Tulane

This gives me hope! This Thursday will be 3 weeks since I sent my update and I’m still waiting on an interview. Seem like we had similar outline for updates so I hope things work out!

Does "In Progress" mean under review? I looked back to see but this thread is pretty long 🙂 I submitted late (11/16) and mine says In Progress now. Not sure when it changed to this status

Thanks for answering!! That’s very helpful. Haha, I wish I could say I’ve got all these new things coming up. All I’ve got is just a stable job and other works right now. (Don’t get me wrong, still super thankful to have one during these times, just wish it was more medically relevant or could lead to things to help with my app)

Sorry if this has already been answered, but does anyone know how long the review stage lasts?

Wide range. For me, it took me 4 weeks to go from under review to II. But, if you shift through the previous posts, you'll see some students who submitted their app in August 2020 and still waiting to be reviewed.

seeing how Tulane is still reviewing August apps mostly, I am convinced my app that was completed in Sep will never get reviewed...
Also an early Sept complete date. I really love this school so I’m holding out hope. Can’t say it’s over until it’s over 🤷🏻‍♀️

Any idea what "in progress" status means? Does it come before under review? I was complete early September and have received no other communication. Is a hold here a death sentence? 🙁 So mentally and emotionally scrambled by this cycle. Really anxious and I like this school a lot (as we all must lol)

If there is a red mark - they haven't gotten your app yet.
If it is green - yeah they are looking at your app and it may take forever.

But also, for this school in particular, people are posting every time they even get verified since that’s a whole part of the process. So you got posts for: verification, II, R, A, and WL. On top of it being low-yield lol.
as well as 'who am i' LOL.

Hold for Possible Interview just now. Complete 7/28, Under Review 10/14.

Getting a hold in December is probably nothing more than a soft R lol.
