any other IS people with target stats just not get a secondary from this school?

no not yet
Okay!
Random thought for the folks here:

Apparently some students are just automatically scooped up for secondaries for UC Davis. I wonder if they do that for UCR, probably based on where they live?

In other words, I wonder if there are Southern California / IE folks that don’t get a secondary from UCR...

Oh! That is interesting. I haven’t gotten any other UC secondary, on the other hand.

I know for the most part that just being from SoCal isn't enough for UCR specifically. What matters is ties to the actual Inland Empire (I.e. community service, you live here, etc.). Living in LA County with no service or other connection to the IE isn't what they are looking for. Not saying that anyone is specifically, but I just wanted to make that distinction.

I guess that makes UCR distinct from institutions like UCI or UCLA - also in Southern California, but not in the Inland Empire.

I would second this! It is like one of the only med school that has “in region bias” rather than IS bias

I’ve heard of this as well, but I interviewed on 10/20 and do not have ties to IE. Complete 9/24
Any thought on what in your app/secondaries might be credited for the II ? Something unique with respect service in the IE ?

Dang congrats my g! Hope you get in! I have heard OOS students have have no ties to the IE but have demonstrated they want to work for areas like the IE through their ECs and PS which resulted in As! Which I would bet you do at least in some aspects!

I would also add, I believe they look for applicants with strong commitments/ECs to serving an underserved population.

I wonder if they look at these ECs (Heck! The whole she-bang) prior to secondaries?

Curious...

I've also heard of this but I have zero ties to the IE and received a secondary

yeah that is what i was hoping. I am so cal, pretty strong ECs for working with underserved (Peace Corps, Americorps), target range stats, but still couldnt get a secondary

So is there a verdict on the missing "communications tab"? Mines gone, but I'm assuming it was a glitch in their system and everyone's is?

According to an email from admissions, they are in the process of updating their portal so that is likely the reason why the communications tab is missing

Pre-II R today 12/4, OOS with ties to CA. This was really messed up b/c they sent me a secondary last week 11/23 and I completed it 11/30. Smells like a money grab to me, especially because they turned around and rejected me 4 days later. :wtf:
Just wanted to chime in and say they did the same thing to me. OOS but went to undergrad close by.

complete Oct 1 and has been crickets. Im IS, Inland Empire but ORM. anyone else experiencing silence?

Yup! Complete late September. IS and IE born and bred, though I went to college in Nor Cal.

I would really love to attend this school. I’m a bit worried at this point, though I’m not surprised.

Has anyone completed their secondary at the beginning of November and heard back yet for an II?

Is everyone still missing the communications tab in the app portal? I'm anxious about hearing back from this school. I was complete 9/15 and still silence.

they are still sending out secondaries.... so I would assume that there are def still some more IIs to go out

I just hope that doesn’t mean that they passed the existing secondaries in the queue.

do they have a social media account ? We might be able to find out more information there!
