Anyone have intel on the screening process? I'm OOS, submitted 6/15 -- quarter system school :/ -- verified 7/16. T10 school, pretty decent MCAT/GPA but haven't received a secondary. I know they send them out differently than some other school but was curious if anyone knew a timeline or anything about their process. Want to know if I should move on or should prep essays for the app.
It seems like screening at the UC schools in general can widely vary depending on which reader is assigned to your application. FWIW, I've received secondaries from UCSD and USCF, but nothing from here yet.

IS secondary received just now! Whew, really didn't know if I would get this one or not. Dream school + 1hr from home!

OOS secondary received! Verified & primary app transmitted 7/15

Is applying to just the MD program frowned upon? I am kind of interested in the Prime program but I honestly don't have that many experiences working with underserved communities so I feel like my essay responses would be rather forced/not compelling. Should I still try applying? or nahhhh
Why in the world would it be frowned upon? lol

What are you guys thinking of writing about for the optional "expand or update on your activities" prompt?

Submitted 7/9, high stat OOS, no secondary yet... can't help thinking there was a red flag in my primary that i wasn't aware of, i need to stop browsing sdn for my sanity lmao

You are NOT alone.

Submitted before you and still have not received a secondary as well. Not sure if they are going in order of submissions or verification, or transmission. I guess we have to keep waiting...

How are y'all seeing when your app was transmitted? Verified 6/22, sent my app to UCSF 7/03, got MCAT score back on 7/21... no secondary OOS

07/03 is your transmission date since you were verified prior to adding UCSF

However, they likely would not put you in queue until your MCAT was received on 7/21

I thoughtAMCAS did NOT trasnmit anything till 7/10?

If you select the MD/Prime option on the secondary, does this mean you will be considered for both the MD and Prime programs? As in, if I get rejected by PRIME, could I still get into the regular MD program?

Does anyone know if the essays for Prime will be seen by regular MD and vice versa?

I've wondered this too. I know that admissions for both are considered separately (i.e. just because you aren't accepted into Prime doesn't mean you can't get into regular MD), but I'm not sure how exactly the adcoms work and who looks at which parts.

Secondary received and submitted 8/12, verified 7/13

IS, LM: 73.2, WARS: 94

Secondary received yesterday! Verified 06/16 so been waiting for awhile! I also received UCI secondary yesterday and it has me wondering whether these schools share a similar screening process lol....

Does anyone know the raw numbers from last year for primary applications received and then secondaries sent out? Curious how much of a screening process occurs here

I think someone mentioned that they got 7000 primaries, sent 2500 secondaries, 500 II and then accepted 270. But it might have been a couple years ago

Does the school still have some time to go to sort out all of the primaries? I’m starting to get a little nervous that there is a major weakness or red flag in my app.

I did get past UC San Diego’s prescreen but I don’t know how intense they are compared to UC San Fran.

Yeah I mean each school for sure has their own things they prioritize over others and I think someone mentioned that SF has many diff readers, each with their own pace, so I wouldn’t fret about any red flags. For reference I got SD 3 weeks ago and I literally just got SF yesterday lol so I mean I wouldn’t count yourself out! I hope it works out for u tho !
