Looks like only one person was added to the Facebook group this week. Not that I’m checking obsessively or anything.
Lol. When did you interview? I'm late (if you don't include the holidays) December and not sure how far they've gotten yet. I've seen A's one month after interview all the way to two months but would rather not keep my hopes up if they've passed my date lol.

Unless I remember wrong, Dr. Chan said if you don't hear relatively soon, it will likely be a notice in March. But I know for sure some people wait a long time until March then get in. Don't count yourself out!

It's true, people do absolutely get accepted after March 15h. However I know that if you scored high enough in your composite score to meet the "accepted" cutoff you'll find out the next day, so that's pretty nerve-wracking lol

I interviewed Nov 20th. At this point it’s very likely I’m in the March 15th group of either waitlist or rejected applicants.

Again maybe I'm remembering wrong, but it seems like there was a really high threshold he told us, where you would get that "auto accept". If your score came out very high. But, if it was in a little bit lower range, you would wait until March and could be accepted at that time directly.

If a little lower, then likely waitlist I think or rejection. It doesn't mean that at March 15 you are guaranteed a waitlist, no? Couldn't some people get accepted that day directly?

I think once they rank everyone after the last interview date then they will send acceptances for the remainder of the accepted slots. Which should just be based purely on rank at that point since the auto accept high threshold won’t matter as they’ve interviewed everyone.

March 15th is probably going to be rejections and waitlists solely?

Interviewed on 12/18, no news since...but that was right before the holidays, and last cohort of people I saw getting notified was from early November...so maybe there's still hope.

Yes, i figured that's the case but wasn't sure. Can you join the group whenever or is it like you can join even if you're not planning on matriculating for fun to see what the class looks like?
It’s for all accepted students, not only for those who plan to enroll. You can request to join whenever and after a few days/weeks, they verify that you were accepted and approve your request.

If anyone is feeling nervous, go back and look at last year's thread. The speculation that decisions in March last year were only waitlists and rejections is simply false. I just did a quick glance at the thread, and I counted at least 10 acceptances reported on the week from March 10-13. Sure there are also plenty of rejections and waitlists in there, but certainly, plenty of acceptances will likely go out then as well this year.

Don't count yourselves out just yet, and don't get too doomy and gloomy once March comes around. We all still have a shot!

Oh for sure! Like someone said up there, they go to the people who got auto-accepted, figure out how many slots they have left the issue acceptances and WLs. I just would prefer to auto accept so I can find out right away instead of WL and possibly being in the middle of reapplying when I find out. Though I'll take whatever they give me whenever they give me.

Also @gliaqueen I was 12/18 too! So hopefully that means they haven't gotten to us yet lol

Any recent II's or has that well pretty much run dry? I'm IS and have been holding out hope for the U so I don't have to move 😶 I mean, it's also my dream school, but really, that move though...

Someone just mentioned last week that they had gotten an II and the dates were for yesterday, Feb 1, and this Friday, Feb 5th. So I think that those might be the last dates? I thought I remembered someone saying they only interview through the end of January but I could be wrong.

Hiya. So I interviewed last year, on the very last interview day, and I believe it was Feb. 2. So if there are interviews this week, they are likely the last of the season. Hope this helps, and good luck to all. : )

To those already accepted, what does the Facebook group looking like? How many people?

My best guess is that 85 A’s have gone out at this point. But that is a very uneducated guess.

The 62 does include admins and moderators and I see at least 1 current student on it too, so <62 accepted students in the Facebook group
Correct. I've seen ~5 staff members (including Dr. Chan) post in the group, so it'd be ~57 members then.

accepted students idk about you but i'm too shy and nervous to be the first one to post on the FB page but is anyone thinking about housing yet? I'm really interested in the graduate housing medical towers but having a fellow MS1 roommate would be nice because it would make it cheaper. I wonder when the admin will start talking about logistics like that. TIA!

also what do you guys think on average med students pay for monthly rent? trying to think about what would be too much

So I'm not accepted but I do live in sugarhouse and pay just over 900 a month for a one bedroom. Closer to downtown would be around 1100-1300, not sure about housing for graduate students specifically but I'd assume it's roughly the same or 100-200 cheaper

Most of my friends prefer off campus living. Closer to amenities and still close to school. Anything north of I-80 and east of I-15 puts you in a good spot. Some don't mind the extra drive to be closer to the canyons for all their extracurriculars.

lol I can relate to this about the Facebook page! You should do it to get the ball rolling haha. I bet someone else has the same question. I’ll like your post 😂

As someone who got in EDP and didn't think of joining the Facebook group til a couple days ago, don't read too much into those numbers 😂

Anyone know when we are gonna start moving things along and hear about when orientation is, etc.?

I’d assume a lot of that comes after March 15 when they fill majority of the class and put others on the wait list.

I just got my acceptance call this morning! I interviewed in January and honestly expected a waitlist at best this late in the interview season! I still can't believe it, this is amazing.
What day in January did u interview?

I am actually in state and FYI this was my third application cycle, so maybe that played a role?
Did you apply to regular MD? I had some friends interview that day and they were all told they’d be in the March 15 group.

Ya I applied regular MD (MD/PhD would be too gnarly haha). Ya we were told it was most likely going to be in March, so I was absolutely shocked to get the call! Third times the charm for applying to med school I guess 😅
