2020-2021 Washington University in St. Louis

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yup! was in a meeting so didnt answer initially, but then I saw a voicemail from St Louis and my jaw dropped

lol if I interviewed in mid Nov and did not get an acceptance call in this batch, does that mean an automatic WL/R? I am also ~ scared ~

This is entirely speculation but I wouldn't count yourself out of the running if you don't hear back in this round. Med school admissions will forever remain an enigma lmao but it ain't over till it's over

Okay so I've been a ball of stress these two days (I interviewed mid Oct) so I went back through last years thread (yet again) and made a chart of reported As and interview dates:

Accepted DateInterview Date
Jan 23Nov 27
Jan 24October
Jan 27Early November
Jan 29Early December
Feb 6Nov 11
Feb 27Early January
Mar 2October
Mar 2Late January
Mar 2September
Mar 12October
Mar 12Early January
Mar 12January
Mar 12Mid September
Mar 13'Very early in the season' per poster

On Feb 5 there was a wave of pre II Rs
On March 16 there was a wave of WLs
March 16th post-II R's reported

Seems like the timeline is a bit random/not strictly chronological, i'm a little calmer now ~ hopefully you are too. <3

Correct me if I am wrong but I feel like the way WUSM makes post-II decisions might look like this: once the file is complete with interview reports, the whole file is available for review among ADCOM members. If a particular applicant catches the attention, they will nominate the applicant to a monthly meeting and once approved by participants of those meetings, the applicant will get the A call.

So in some respect, there might be a correlation between the date of your interview and the date of the A notification (it seems to me that most people who got the December call did interview before Nov and for this round, maybe late Oct ~ late Nov). But regardless of the date of your interview, extra spectacular applicants would get the call as fast as possible, and another stellar students interviewed earlier might get recommended later by the faculty.

And finally, rejection goes to people who never got recommended by the adcom member (?)

Has anyone received an email or something on the portal after getting the call?

We don't have a "Why WashU Wednesday" session today, right?

II today as well, super surprised. I'm guessing most A's have gone out by this point - is that accurate?
Congratulations! WashU seems to give very few As before a big release sometime in late February and early March.

Lol I sure hope not. I have seen in previous years' threads though that most acceptances go out in mid Feb-March even though a number do go out earlier.

Anyone know if adcoms are also meeting today ?

For those accepted, has washu given any info about applying for financial aid? I know we have to do FAFSA, but anything else?
