2021-2022 Indiana

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Interviewed 01/12 and received this message yesterday:

"Your application is now under consideration and ready to go before the Admissions Committee. All applicants will receive a final decision by June."

Does this mean my file is currently being reviewed or that it's in a pile of things waiting to be addressed? I submitted all my supplementary materials well before interviewing (confirmed on portal), and this message makes me worry that my application wasn't even marked as complete for over a month 😕 Should I expect any further communication between this message and a final decision?
pile waiting to be addressed pretty much. From my understanding it basically means that the next time the committee meets, they will decide on an action to give you come the next decision time (15th-ish of every month?)

I interviewed in September, had the complete thing later in the month and received my decision in October to give you a timeframe.

has anyone received an email with an A or a portal update?
I interviewed on 1/12 and my application was under consideration 1/18 and I was hoping to hear something yesterday. I haven't received any emails and no updates were made on my portal... I reached out to the Admission's office and they said:

"We only guarantee that you will hear something by June 1st. Keep in mind we are not on a rolling admissions.
Decisions are mailed so if something was sent it will be coming to your mail box and will then be followed up with a email around a week later."

I wish I could know if I should expect something this month or not!🙁

Does anyone know if the "first look" days imply there is second look as well? Or if any of the first looks may be in Indy? Very excited to possibly tour 🙂

so…what are the chances of getting your top campus choice 😂

I just received my acceptance letter today! I interviewed on 1/6 and am in-state. I have not received an email or a portal update yet
Congratulations!! Thank you for the update!
Can you share any other information? Does it say when it was mailed? Do you have informed delivery, and if so, did it show up there??

Would you also be open to sharing your stats?

Instead of LOIs, schools should check how many times we obsessively check the portal lol
I know this is a joke but at one of my interviews, the dean told us that they can actually see how frequently applicants check the portal so I agree haha. Still waiting since the September 1st interview date

It means the interviewers finished their "reports" and your application is complete. Ready for review!

Just got my A in the mail. OOS and this was my only II. I thought it was hopeless for me this cycle. Screaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats! Do you mind sharing stats, interview date and what state? Also, does your portal look any different? Sorry to bombard you with questions lol

Do we think there are more decisions to be made this month or is this wave already done?
Well, seeing as how today was a Sunday and tomorrow is a holiday, we may still get something this coming Tuesday. Just based on this thread, I saw that people were getting acceptances all the way up until the 21st last month (which was a Friday). Call it wishful/over thinking, but that may be why it's been so quiet this month. That or the people who have been accepted just aren't posting as much (which I know isn't the most accurate measure, but usually more people post their acceptances around now according to this cycle).

Yeah last month was also tricky because the 15th was a saturday and the following monday was a holiday so they didnt even meet until tuesday 1/18. The only decent indicator of when this month's decisions are over is when people start getting emails/portal changes, as that is far more reliable than the USPS.

So if anybody gets in through email or portal change this week, please post if you can!

That's a really good point about adcoms most likely having to meet after the 15th of last month since it fell on a weekend and resulting in a possible delay of decisions. Perhaps January wasn't the best example since there are previous months having the 15th fall on a weekday yet still resulting in some not getting their acceptance until around the 21st that month via letter (or even later than that if notified via email/portal). However as you pointed out, USPS may not be the most reliable measure to gauge when to expect something (due to mail depending on not only the day but possibly on location and other factors as well).

All this to say that I guess we can't really predict when each coming month's acceptances "end". Definitely agree on urging people to post whether they have heard back! That's probably our best shot at knowing what the heck is going on at this point lol.

Do you mind me asking if you had all your materials turned in prior to the interview and if you directly notified Admissions when everything was submitted? I interviewed the same day but wasn't under consideration until 2/14. All my materials (minus interview notes) showed up as received in the portal months ago, so I didn't think it was necessary to notify them. Now I'm worried that I was supposed to touch base with them and have wound up delaying my review... really hope I'm just overthinking this.

If we don’t have anything in the mail / informed delivery and no email, does that mean we didn’t get in this round? Does anyone know?

I don't think anybody knows. Today is a holiday and there is no USPS. Also, informed delivery hasn't meant much for this acceptance packet if I'm not mistaken. The adcom might not even be working today, so I don't even know if we can expect an email. This month has been very inconsistent with previous months.

You're overthinking it. You don't need to notify them when everything is turned in - they'll know without you doing so. The "under consideration" review date likely depends on when your interviewer turns in their notes and where you are in the lineup.

Roommate just got an A in the mail. IS but at school in Cincinnati so mail took longer to get here. He interviewed 1/12, MCAT 514, near 4.0 gpa. I (also IS) interviewed 11/10 and still waiting to hear anything (MCAT 508 3.9gpa)

That's interesting, USPS should be closed today as Reapp97 said. I was gonna say maybe it was sitting in your guy's mailbox/apartment main area for a bit, but then again you live in the same location and didn't get anything. Big congrats to them, but also sorry to hear you didn't get anything despite interviewing earlier. The whole way IU has been handling this is bonkers.

I got my A in the mail on Friday and just received the acceptance email/portal update! Looks like they are starting to send emails today
Congrats again fam. Atleast they gave you those updates on top of the mail acceptance instead of just one or the other like others have gotten. Hoping our acceptances are still waiting to be delivered once the mail comes in tomorrow, but starting to have doubts.

*Sigh*, hello Kaplan my old friend. I've come to read you again 😔

Congratulations to everyone that received an acceptance this month. Would anyone be comfortable sharing what the portal update looks like?

Someone I know that got accepted last cycle told me a whole new acceptance tab should pop up once you get in. It shouldn't be different for this cycle but if anyone know feel free to update us.

Will we still receive campus placements if we have not "committed to enroll"? For example, if I just "plan to enroll" will i still receive my campus placement like everyone else?
