Yes they will. They are completely separate admissions tracks.if you don't get an interview for Maine track, will they consider you for the regular program as well?

Maine or main track?Just got the acceptance call this morning! Complete secondary early July, interviewed late October
Boston MDMaine or main track?
Gotcha, silence since then for me too, ah well it is what it isI was complete 8/4 and they asked me for additional documents on 8/25. It's been silent since then though so I'm guessing it's going to be an R in the spring
I just got in with a 3.8 gpa and science and 508 mcat but I got deferred last year, so you never know!I have my interview for Maine track next week. Basically if I get in I am going I don't really care about other places. I would assume I am a little away from the typical averages but for those who have been accepted what are you stats right now? I am a 510 mcat and a 3.72 gpa (3.8 science). Nothing too special but I was wondering if those who have had success are seeing number like that as well. Once again, I just want to ball park my stuff because I don't have any demographics on my side as a south asian kid of two doctors. Just let me know that I am trying to get a sense of how these things usually go.
I also got accepted on the same day as you! Maybe we were in the same interview? Super excited!!Accepted Maine Track, no ties to the state of Maine or New England.
Letting the cycle pan out, but overall this is my number one MD only school and I am enthralled!
(Sorry for the repost, I meant to edit to remove something, accidentally deleted)
Congrats! Based on the interview day “60 accepted, 40 matriculated” we have a solid chance at being classmates!I also got accepted on the same day as you! Maybe we were in the same interview? Super excited!!

Hello, current MTer. I had a couple (1 or 2) classmates who commuted to Boston, but they had places they could crash at if need be. I don't know if they plan to reopen Posner - it's student housing that's very close to campus and relatively affordable, but it's been closed for the last 2 years dt Covid. A lot of my classmates rented in JP (Jamaica Plain) - relatively affordable, especially with roommates. I would recommend trying to rent a place near Boston. Having a local community is important. Are there any current students and/or Maine Track students who can talk about renting in or around Boston (at least for that first year)? My current situation requires I have a two-bedroom and what is listed on the Tufts housing website does not look anywhere near affordable for me. I will be fine once I get to Portland (likely purchasing), but would it even be more advisable to just start out in Portland and commute during M1 for anything mandatory? Boston is expensive.....

Awesome, thank! Do you guys normally move after the first academic year during that summer?Hello, current MTer. I was thinking taking the train if there are only mandatory activities 3 or fewer days a week. Definitely not feasible if I have to be in town every day.Portland ME to Boston?
If so, definitely not feasible. Keep in mind traffic adds at least 1.5 hours to the commute. And on the way back it would probably be the same.
Got that in September and silence since then. I think it's an administrative process separate from the actual committee review.Did anybody who got the institutional action request letter end up getting an interview? Not sure if this is a good sign or is Standard for everybody
Yep - got it pretty early on and interviewed this week!Did anybody who got the institutional action request letter end up getting an interview? Not sure if this is a good sign or is Standard for everybody
Yes and am currently accepted.Did anybody who got the institutional action request letter end up getting an interview? Not sure if this is a good sign or is Standard for everybody
People either moved at the start of the summer or the end of the summer - depending on leases, social life, research, job, etc.I was thinking taking the train if there are only mandatory activities 3 or fewer days a week. Definitely not feasible if I have to be in town every day.
yes I got an IA letter request on 8/25 and I got an II yesterday morning during the apparent II blast!Did anybody who got the institutional action request letter end up getting an interview? Not sure if this is a good sign or is Standard for everybody
I think IA here means Institutional Action. But IA in the context of # of interviews means Interviews AttendedPlease enlighten me fellow premeds, what’s an IA?

mine says the same and I've been complete since 7/4 😕 wondering if this is a soft R at this pointIs it normal that my portal still says “your application is ready!” For second review Or does this genuinely mean that they haven’t even looked at it yet lol. Submitted 7/6
I’m thinking it probably is. I’m also MD/MPH i dont know if that makes a differencemine says the same and I've been complete since 7/4 😕 wondering if this is a soft R at this point
not necessarily! I was complete mid-July MD/MPH and that was also my status up until i got an II last week- don't lose hope!I’m thinking it probably is. I’m also MD/MPH i dont know if that makes a difference
The out-of-state an in-state statistics are flippedOn MSAR it says Tufts interviewed 167 OOS applicants and 146 OOS matriculated last year. It also says 654 in state applicants were interviewed and 54 matriculated. Am i reading this wrong or is it a mistake? I feel like those proportions can't possibly be right.

What does D/E/I stand for and what are the theee big questions we should prepare forthey were mostly conversational. I was pretty intimidated when I found out which faculty member I was going to interview with, but he was very friendly. They will let you know during info sessions that the interviews are mainly a way to get to know you and are not meant to stress you out. There were a couple of Qs that caught me a bit off guard, but looking back, they made a lot of sense given the vibe at Tufts (huge emphasis on D/E/I and anti-racism). I would recommend being prepared to answer the big 3 Qs and try to tie in as many as your own experiences with their mission statement
I may be stupid and have 0 II’s at this point, and odds are that I will never get one, but at least k know that obgyn876 can’t tell you what the big questions are since that would be serious infringement on the part of sharing private information between interviewer and intervieweeWhat does D/E/I stand for and what are the theee big questions we should prepare for
