When you go under review, if you are not chosen for an interview, are they giving out R’s? Or is it just interview or hold?
Thanks a bunch for taking the time to comment and soothe some of our anxiety and stress! Really appreciate it 🙂Congratulations to those who secured an II! You'll do well 🙂
As for others waiting, unfortunately, I can't provide you with a defined timeline of when you'll hear back. Admissions is largely a black box with so many factors involved (i.e. are you with a linkage program, who is reviewing your file, how far behind your reviewers are etc). Personally, I got an II a month after submitting my secondary in middle of July 2021. So use that however it suits you.
As for the decisions after submitting the application, the most often will be a "hold". This is not me being pessimistic, but just reality, since there are way too many applicants that interview spots and eventual acceptance. Rejections after submitting a secondary (at this early in the game) are super rare.
Hope this provides some more insight.
For those who messaged me, I'm sorry for my late responses. School has been getting really busy. I'll try to respond as soon as I can, but need to prioritize my studies first.
Good luck everyone 🙂
wondering the same thingWhen you go under review, if you are not chosen for an interview, are they giving out R’s? Or is it just interview or hold?
secondary submitted same day. Still not under review 🙁AMCAS submitted 6/21, transmitted 7/22, secondary received/submitted 8/2, under review email 8/20. OOS applicant
+1secondary submitted same day. Still not under review 🙁
Ok I think I just haven't been regularly checking my bank account every day until I started applying to med school. I got off the phone with my bank, and they told me it's not that uncommon and to just wait it out because it's likely the extra charge will disappear on its own while it's pending. They said not to worry and to call them back if the double charge was finalized, which it wasn't.Did anybody else get charged the application fee twice by Tulane?
Sorry to hear, when did you go "under review"?Received hold for interview today, anyone know if we will ever receive an interview?
8/17/21 I’m just grateful it’s not a rejectionSorry to hear, when did you go "under review"?
Hang in there! Just have to be patient.8/17/21 I’m just grateful it’s not a rejection
Hi friend, sorry to hear that! Tulane is also one of the low-yield school so even with CASPER score, I don't think its a true reflection of your application value! Also, when did you go under review btw 🙂 Stay hopeful and good luck!Rejected. 1st quartile Casper score so I'm hoping its just that. Good luck everyone else!
Per their website, that's correct.CASPer is only "encouraged" for Tulane, not required, correct?
8/11 under review, that's why the quick turn around scared me hahaHi friend, sorry to hear that! Tulane is also one of the low-yield school so even with CASPER score, I don't think its a true reflection of your application value! Also, when did you go under review btw 🙂 Stay hopeful and good luck!
Yeah I believe so, I sent my scores to the schools before receiving my results which probably was not the smartest moveCASPer is only "encouraged" for Tulane, not required, correct?
They take a little while, keep patient.I'm still waiting on a secondary, is it just me? Submitted OOS primary 8/18.
previous cycles is that it's definitely possible, but not very common. As the cycle moves forward, a lot of people start not taking interviews and that's generally where movement for this pool happens, but because of COVID and virtual interviews, it's a little weird.Received hold for interview today, anyone know if we will ever receive an interview?
How long should we be worried after going under review
+1Submitted 8/2. Still not under review 🙁
submitted 8/20. cant believe its taking so long...
Boy it hasn't even been a week since u submitted lmaosubmitted 8/20. cant believe its taking so long...
I know it’s taking FOREVERBoy it hasn't even been a week since u submitted lmao
Hopefully this isn’t a dumb question, but how do you know what quartile you are for casper? I’ve clicked around a bunch, and I can’t seem to find a score. I was under the impression they didn’t provide one.Just received a "hold for possible interview" email.
Secondary Submitted: 07/23
Under Review: 08/11
Interview Hold: 08/26
LM: 75
Casper: 1st quartile
They make your score available to you about a month after they release your scores to schools. Doesn't make any sense why casper wont release your scores to you as soon as they have them but just adds to another reason Altuis sucksHopefully this isn’t a dumb question, but how do you know what quartile you are for casper? I’ve clicked around a bunch, and I can’t seem to find a score. I was under the impression they didn’t provide one.
It took almost 4 weeks for me to be under reviewsubmitted 8/20. cant believe its taking so long...
There isn't one. Must've been for a previous year. You're good!Holy god this thread has 11 pages already lmao
Anyway, Secondary received 8/6 and subbed/confirmation emailed 8/8. The email said I should have a red exclamation point in my portal which will turn green when someone starts reviewing it. Where is that? I'm probably in the same boat as you guys with no one reviewing my app just yet but where do I find the red exclamation point?
Okay thanks, I figured but just wanted to be sure! Can't be too careful when you're using Microsoft Edge 😛 Everyone who got confirmation that you were under review, did they notify you by email? There isn't one. Must've been for a previous year. You're good!
Yep, they notify you via email. I got it ~3 weeks after I submitted my secondary app.Okay thanks, I figured but just wanted to be sure! Can't be too careful when you're using Microsoft Edge 😛 Everyone who got confirmation that you were under review, did they notify you by email?
This is very likely, New Orleans is expected to be without power in some places for weeks. This is one of the largest storms to hit not only New Orleans, but Louisiana as a whole in years (I think I read like 100 years+). If it does hit as bad as projected, parts of NOLA (restaurants and business) will be pretty much destroyed. Please exhibit some patience with delay. There's a hurricane hitting NOLA tomorrow, so not sure how it will impact the admissions process. My guess is that it will cause some delays, as staff is evacuating/working from home/ might lose power etc. The key word is guess, as I'm just a T1 and not privileged to get insight into the admissions process. However, as I was in your shoes last year and understand the level of nervousness on this thread, I hope my post helps and provides some direction/expectations.
