Anyone know the turn around time for a decision after an interview? I know that all ED applicants hear back by 10/1 but I’m not sure if any regular decision applicants will hear back before then or not
No AMCAS regular decision acceptances can go out before October 15th.
Sadly, rejections can be heard about at any time.

Tulane is the biggest sh** show there is after post II. Last year I was WL after my interview but waited five months to hear a decision. Others only had to wait 3 weeks. and then there was anywhere in between that time range. Basically this is what happens after your interview... your application is scored by your interviewer and you are put into a pile/pool of scored, post-interview applications that are ready for a final review/decision by the committee. The problem with tulane is that they dont pull those applications to be reviewed in a chronological order. Instead they pull those applications in a random order. So theres a chance you could get lucky and get pulled immediately after your interview for review. but theres a greater chance that your application takes forever to get pulled due to random chance and an increasing pool size as the application cycle runs. Tulane really should change how they do this cause its infuriating

I'm sorry, but what? Not doubting you, but where did you hear this?

This is the file in question. I can confirm that it works this way at least in 2019. COVID might have shaked things up. My faculty member when I was at Tulane for my masters confirmed that this is how it works and how sometimes it can take 6 weeks simply because the reviewer are so busy with other things that it takes it that long to even get to it. Tulane has a lot of interviews with a small committee so they're kind of in a hard place with a streamlined timeline (although I'm not excusing it, I also wish it was better lol)

On hold for possible interview.. Was under review on 08/19. Do I still have a chance? 🙁

anyone who submit secondary 8/6 under review yet?

The only “good thing” is getting an II. For some schools, getting a hold isn’t bad. For others, being put on Hold = soft R. But being put on hold is never “good”. Getting an II is.
Yes but at some schools that send holds and Rs early it can be a bell weather of sorts.

I guess saying the word "good" wasn't the appropriate term. I'm aware that the overall goal is to get an interview. I guess I just wanted clarification as to what exactly being on hold signified. Better to be placed on hold than rejected.

I was complete 08/06 and have still not received an "under review" email either...
me too

I used to think that there was a bit of a chronological order for going under review, but recent posts have disproved that!
Like how I went under review the same day (8/19) that you did and I didn't get an email from them today. Gimme that R!

For the ones who have interviewed here, how was it? What is the format like? Anything specific that I should prepare for?

complete 8/12 and haven't received under review email yet

I submitted on 08/11 and while I never received an email that I was placed under review, my portal has a green check mark which according to their emails means that I am under review. I have not received any other communication from them, does this mean I'm on hold?

I haven't received anything either. Where do you see the green checkmark? do you mean the checklist where each task has a checkmark?

Yeah! The green checkmark in the checklist. The email said "Your portal will have a red exclamation point stating you are in progress and this will remain until you are assigned to a screener. Once assigned, the checkmark will turn green and your application is now considered under review. You will receive another email once a decision is made on your application."

I asked about the "under review" issue (as I've been complete since 8/2 with no update) and this was the response:

"We always tell people that 'no news is good news' as your application is still actively being considered for an interview invitation, even if your notification has not been updated yet. If you like, you can submit any updates to your application directly to your TUSOM application portal. Once you log in, click on “user profile” and from there you will click on “upload document”. It must be in a PDF format. We wish you well with your application."

Well, I spoke a little soon, just went under review yesterday (9/26), complete 8/2.

For those who have interviewed here, did you receive the names of the interviewers along with your zoom link prior to the interview? TYIA <3
