interview 11/10 heard back nothing, looks like GG
Go through the MD-PhD acceptance threads from past years, you might get dragged out to January or February before you get good news (even with a Nov. interview date). After February though I think you're done. Don't count yourself out

I finished my interview just recently. The post-interview acceptance rate is ~50-60% depending on the year and number of students they plan to try and recruit (source: current students had access to data from a program director). I think it may be on the higher side this year since 20 MSTP students entered last year and they try to target a class size of 25.

Your odds are better than a coin flip! You also didn’t get an email from the MSTP the week after your interview, which is only sent if you've been rejected immediately. You're in the "Review Again Later" or possibly even the Accept pile awaiting your MD subcommittee approval

Now it remains to be seen whether I’ll get bad news lol. My panel interview + wrap up went well but who knows what they’re thinking. I didn’t get any questions or feedback at the wrap-up (mostly the interviewer selling the program + taking questions) but that could mean they’ve made up their mind about rejecting me already and didn’t see a point in entertaining my science lol

A lot of MD-PhD students I talked to also at the student social afterward said they had a rough interview but got in anyways. So you are definitely not out of the running. I look forward to being your classmate a year from now!

For anyone interviewing with the MSTP in the future, feel free to DM. Now to go and write a post-interview update for the school...

Does WashU release bulk of main stream MD decisions in March? Seems the A’s posted in SDN so far are mainly MSTP or highly sought after candidates who typically get interviews at other T5 schools.
I think that was the consensus from prior years. Doesn't stop me from checking out rentals on stlouis craigslist every week though.

Just butchered the Kira Talent interview by rambling around the questions. I will take my R now
Wanted to let everyone know that despite my terrible Kira Talent answer (I am not exaggerating this), I did amazing in both of my interviews and was accepted. Wanted to ease anyone's nerves if you're like me and can only form thoughts when another human is present

anyone admitted by phone either friday or today received email confirmation or a portal change yet?

honestly I cannot figure out the pattern anymore. At first it seemed As were coming mostly in order of interview week, but now that they've started admitting people who interviewed beyond September it seems so random. It's like every few days a November interviewee gets accepted, but seemingly not a lot of October interviewees have heard back. Idk if most of these people getting As are MD/PhD and that's why?
I don’t think there’s that many of us who apply MSTP on SDN that also all happen to apply and get admitted to WashU 😛, otherwise we’d see them hovering around the MD-PhD threads.

It could just be MD subcommittee timing or some other reason related to nonresponse bias and the low sample size

Anyone know if WashU accept update letters Pre-II? Email or portal?

I interviewed here on 11/9 and still haven't heard back. Should I basically lose hope at this point? 🤔 lol

did they say anything about us November interviewees on your interview ?
No communications on November MD-PhD interviewees, but they did say for us that all of the December MD-PhD interviewees' decisions should be finalized by the end of January. So I'd expect that to be a conservative upper bound on the timeline for November as well

important topic, I might hope for someone a bit more erudite for my tuition dollar though:

Well the professor says that she's happy to have dialogue with people with opposing views but will not debate/argue with them about the realities of systemic racism. I cannot see what the problem is, especially when understanding the causes and effects of systemic racism is key to being a sensible doctor.

It’s fox news, so the angle/taking quote out of context makes sense

First A of the cycle just now! MSTP, interviewed Nov 17/18. So grateful!!
Seconding this!

Interviewed 12/02, got the call from Clarissa about 20 minutes ago and still shaking.

MSTP acceptance, WashU student, applied straight through, 3.9+/518. WashU was my number one this entire cycle and I think I'm extremely likely to commit. See you in St. Louis @AshNanook !!!
