Hope it is not a bad look if I got an II in October for a January interview and haven't done the Kira assessment yet. Maybe this is just my neurotic premed self talking.

If it helps, you're further along than me.

are we done with interview invites for irvine? or do we think that there will be more?

There are more IIs between January and March based on last year's thread.

Are there any pre-II Rs yet? Pre-secondary Rs come in November usually but I don't see any.

Did anyone else feel weird about the interrogation interview style by their faculty interview? It really felt like my interviewer came out swinging and I was able to dodge the punches for about 40ish minutes of back to back questions. But then I stumbled by not remembering the name of the programming language I used in my part-time data analysis job which felt like the gotcha moment; however, my interviewer did help me remember the name of it before moving on to the next question. I've given it some thought over the past few days, but I still feel weird about it because it felt like I was mostly being fact checked and it wasn't conversational or relaxed like everyone had been saying 😕

Also for those that have already got accepted, did any of you have an experience similar to this?

I've watched a few presentations by their dean of admissions and I recall vaguely they do this just to vibe check you. I think as long as you maintained under pressure then you're fine.

when did emails for waitlist/rejections typically come in in the past? did they come in the evening?

did the post II rejections receive the “competitive candidate” email?

I'm not sure. I think there might be some. But I as an example received an interview invite in like October and the only available date was in February. IIs may have already been sent for those times.

interviewed early dec and they told us we wouldn't hear until the new year but today i got an update saying i was on the WL. did anyone else get that?? was really surprised to hear from them when they reiterated we wouldn't hear any decision until into the new year.

anyone have any info on the alternate list and how they order/rank us? i'm missing a pre-req but have other A's so i'm debating whether it's worth the time and money to take the course if there's no chance of me getting off the WL...

Is this school cheaper than the others you’re accepted too? If so, it might be worth it to take the course and stay on the alt list.

Edit: check last year’s thread for WL movement.

did everyone on the WL get an email ? are we supposed to be checking our portal?

I’m not sure exactly how UCI decides who gets off the waitlist.

However, adcoms at other universities have said that they try to either find a unique profile or a profile that matches the person that waived the acceptance.

i haven’t either. It says that it’s due 2 days prior to interview, so that’s probably when they’ll look at your file. I plan to do mine at least 1-2 weeks in advance.

Sorry to hear that has been some people’s experience.. my faculty interview was so chill and we spent an hour talking about random crap

+1 IS A!! Got the call around noon on Christmas Eve. This is my first acceptance and I'm still in shock and excitement!!! I interviewed 11/18.

Has anyone received an actual letter, email or any other notification of acceptance tho?

+1 IS A also on Christmas Eve! Still no email or update in portal

Are we supposed to email them about not receiving a decision after almost 3 months? I interviewed in early October but haven’t heard anything since but I don’t remember if they told us to email them if more than 6 weeks have passed.

I'm currently a student at UCI and my student access tab now has two tabs, one for my undergraduate information and one for my medical tab. I haven't even gotten an II yet so I have no idea what to make of this. Proof:
