Do I have to schedule a KIRA interview or can I just log on whenever I want to complete it?

There should be plenty of specific instructions for KIRA in the emails they send you as well as in your portal. Check those out to be sure. I forget since I interviewed over a month ago but I don't remember having to schedule it. As long as you do it a certain number of days before your live interview.

it looks like last year the first decisions were sent around this time but decisions trickled out gradually after that

I believe there will be a big wave tomorrow based on last year, since they seem to be sending the waves on mostly the same numerical dates as last year! 😀

they sent acceptances on oct 23rd last year too

Like all schools they send them in batches not one single day

It's fine to do that if you have more experiences that match the question. After all, they have already read what you wrote in your secondary.
If you can't think of something different, then use your previous examples.
