how long does RFU usually take to send out secondaries? I was verified on Aug 6th.

lady i talked to was very niceIf any of you guys tried calling them to check on your file, I just want to let you y'all know that there is one woman who is in charge of the phones, her name is Shannon Stein, and she is one fat lazy bitch that deserves to get her ass fired. Don't bother calling or emailing, she won't respond to you.
I had to go through this experience last year, so just a word of advice.
Good luck everybody. I think I speak for everybody at RFUMS when i say this, this should ONLY be your safety school. For most of us, this was our only MD acceptance. LMAO
To those that called to check completeness, had you guys received the e-mail stating that they have received your application and fee?

There are many RFU students who are being well prepared to become physicians, and speak highly of their experiences.
I am faculty at a different Medical school. My daughter is a student at RFU and the curriculum is clinically oriented, and does prepare the students for those Boards.
Faculty at other Chicago schools have told me that RFU students are competitive and similarly prepared compared with the other Chicago schools. I have mentored an RFU student last year at my school, and he was second to none in enthusiasm and knowledge.
RFU is not just a safety school, it has earned the respect of other medical schools through its preparation of well trained graduates. The match list proves this.
I am certain bizlove voices a minority opinion.
lol serious, ill be picky when i have 5 acceptances....not zero hahawell i will start judging schools once i get multiple acceptances
for now, it'd be nice to be invited to any school..
I'll give you an anecdote
When I interviewed here, I asked my interviewer who was a M4, why he decided to come here, and he bluntly responded that this was the only school he was able to get in.
This is the same with most of the people that attend this god forsaken place.
Looking at your application experience last year scares the crap out of me. Did you send in your secondaries late last year? I am surprised you didn't even get an interview at UIC with your strong stats. You are right, there are no safety schools, I'll take what I can get.yes, it is true that many of us are here because this is the only place that accepted us, but for those of you going through the application process now, you cannot consider CMS a "safety school". honestly, i dont believe there is a single U.S. MD program that deserves that title. i feel privileged to be here, and anyone who doesn't probably needs to reconsider their views. according to our dean at the white coat ceremony last week, about 10400 applications were submitted last year, interviews were only offered to 6% of applicants, and a lower number acceptances were declined than ever before.
now, i dont mean to discourage any of the pre-meds here - im simply saying that you need to put your all into this app (just like you would at Rush or any other school) and push yourself into that top 6%.

I was verified one day before (8/4) and I've yet to receive the secondary. Still waiting ...has anyone whose been verified after 8/5 received this app?
I tried looking on the website but no luck...Rosalind asks us about what challenges we see when working with interprofessional teams. What exactly do you do with the teams? just solve clinical dilemmas? and how early do you start working in groups?
Thanks! any insight would be appreciated!
So they sent me an email saying that they received my supplemental and check. Does this mean I'm complete?
Is there a website to check the status? Or do they only communicate via emaiL?
They don't have a website for status check. If you are curious about your status, I would suggest calling instead because email is sort of hit-or-miss. Some of my emails never got replies, and some got replies 20 minutes later. When I called, the really nice and friendly lady marked me complete while we were on the phone! It's worth the call.

The school is accredited for 185 students. 60 of those spots are reserved for the BMS program. So, in reality the number of seats is 125. I really don't see why anyone who is an outsider should apply here, if you want to waste 130 dollars. Go ahead.
I actually don't care for being here. I mean I know my ugrads were pretty ****ty but I paid 35,000 dollars for a second chance where I did prove them that I was far superior than their average students. So, thus I am here.
Holy ****, they made a 1,040,000 dollars just of application fees because they don't screen applicants. I really don't understand where all of this money goes, I mean I don't see any improvements to the school. Makes me wonder, hmmmm

I was verified mid June and applied for RFU back in June and still haven't gotten their secondary. I think they're just very slow.
Also, does anyone know what the campus is like? I find it sketchy that I can't find a single picture of their campus on their website, not even in their viewbook. Is it in a more dangerous part of town? Because that + their slowness in getting the secondary to me is making me re-consider even applying.
ive emailed them like 5 times about different things, and only one responseso I've e-mailed admissions twice about why I still haven't received a secondary, and still no response. Ridiculous.
could someone let me know if i should even submit the secondaries im running low on money and dont really think i have a shot. please check my mdapps

Its a waste of money if you ask me. While the average MCAT and GPA at this school is about 3.5 and 30. What you don't realize is that 60 spots are reserved for BMS students give or take. So the actual number of seats is 125 approximately. The average MCAT and GPA of the BMS students is mid 20s and 3.3.
So in order to keep their stats above, the school takes in more qualified students with higher MCATs and GPA to average their numbers out to 3.5 and 30, mostly from California because its a bitch to get into medical school in Cali. They're overflowing with qualified candidates.
You have a snowball's shot in hell with those stats at this school.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

So I called today to complete my status. The lady explained to me that theres literally 2 people in the admissions office, and its not electronic so they don't get some big notice saying OH IM COMPLETE. Kinda felt really bad cause admissions people usually have the "I have my job" vibe on the phone but she was really nice.
2nd thing, about the averages, 3 people I know had sub 30 MCATS (27, 27, 29) but stronger GPAs 3.7-3.9, and they got in. They literally got in like..1 month-2 weeks before school started but they got in, so it's definitely possible.
