I mentioned my specific reasons for wanting to go to St. Louis University. Since I'm an OOS applicant, I'm sure they wonder why. =)

3.6/34, interview invite this morning.

I don't have any interview links other than the calendar for when I can select an interview date. Does anyone have information about student hosts?

for those with interviews...when were you completed?

I sent in my secondary 9/3 and got my interview e-mail 9/10. It's for Sept. 29th. I did include an optional essay.

I did not find out they don't accept AP credit for prereq's until after I applied.

Well, that was a waste of money. Now I'm just waiting for my rejection.

Congrats to everyone with interviews 🙂

Email and ask about your specific situation. I did, and they said it would be fine! I used an AP credit for bio, but took upper level classes and now work in a bio lab. The man was very nice and told me I would still be eligible for admission.

Invite at 10PM last night! Strange... but I'll take it 🙂

35MCAT/3.8. OOS.

What is the price of this secondary?

checking the status of st. louis and other similar website interfaces (creighton, medical college of wisconsin, tufts, etc) seems to be useless and indeed fruitless endeavor. i guess we only get invited through email.

Invite yesterday, complete mid-august. 🙂 For those familiar with St Louis, any suggestions for a good hotel that is close to the school?

Thanks. Well I might have been complete early august but I'm not sure since I didn't write it down....

DO NOT LOSE HOPE PEOPLE!!! Complete back in mid-July, and got an invite >2 months later (today).

This actually used to be my safety school. Oh boy.

Me too! Or at least that's what I used to think.

Congrats! That is great news! I turned in my secondary the same day they first sent it out (~2 hours after they sent them out). I hope I get some news from them. What interview dates are available now?

A couple of dates for next week, plenty of dates through october. I'm sure november is wide open but I didn't check.

I didn't see any open for September, but there are several in October and many many many in November.

Sending good luck vibes to you guys 😍

I checked yesterday so those september spots might have filled up since then....

How were the interviews monday and yesterday folks? I've got one coming up... so excited about SLU!

It was GREAT. I was surprised by how impressed I was. The M1s have their 2nd anatomy exam tomorrow, so they were a little stressed, but everyone was very down to earth. The tour was cool, we got to pick SLU adult hospital or the Children's, but I'll say it's a fair amount of walking (~1 h tour), so girls, consider bringing flats. I was glad I did. There can be a lot of down time if you have an afternoon interview, but at least the other interviewees I talked to were really nice. I think one kid had from 1 pm, when lunch/financial aid info ended until 3:30, when his interview was, free. Could be even longer if you have a later interview (schedule has spots until 5pm), plus they also said Tuesday interviews tend to be much larger than Mondays.

My interview was very low-key. The only ones I'd needed to prepare an answer for was explaining my research and 'Why SLU'. Not even a 'Why Medicine' question. I could see myself being very happy there, with the only real drawback being the cost of attendance ($67,000) with no merit-based scholarships. But I really loved it, so be excited!

Last year when I interviewed there there was a LOT of walking, throughout the med school building, through tunnels(hot!), and around the hospitals.

I contacted the admission office and was told this:

"AP credit is not considered by the committee, but you can use writing intensive coursework to fullfill the requirement. Thank you."

Interestingly, I submitted my primary and secondary with 3 AP Credits in English with no contact from anyone. My school has had a very hard time certifying courses as "writing intensive". Wish I didn't waste the $100+. And if I didn't inquire my application would just be sitting there... I asked if someone would contact me to tell me what courses could qualify as writing intensive...

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely be bringing flats - thanks for the tip.

I'm so excited for Monday now! 😀

P.S. For those still waiting... I have similar numerical stats to those that have already posted, OOS, had all my stuff turned in on 9/10 - not sure when I was "complete."

Also, my only english credit was from AP, though I did take other courses that involved alot of writing - I don't see how you could graduate college without writing alot... I wouldn't worry too much about this requirement!

Invite this morning, OOS. Complete late July / early August.

The St. Louis city sounds like a fun place! I'm stoked!

I called about that and the lady over the phone told me to email them about the writing intensive courses I took so they could add it to my file.

I took a literature course and was hoping that one of my writing intensive humanities course could fulfill the requirement for a total of 6 credits.

Did that work? I do not know. Maybe i just wasted $100 bucks 😕

interview today as well!! scheduled for the 27th of Oct, they did have some earlier ones tho

oos 4.0/34 complete early august

When were you complete?

Submitted my Secondary July 9th. Not sure when they marked me as complete.

When I looked the only earlier date was Oct 26th. They only interview on M/Tu.

St. Louis would be a great place to do med school. Great education, excellent clinicals! What more can you ask for really? St. Louis as a city is pretty awesome as well in my experience.

Interview invite today woohooooooo <3 slu jesuit school love.

My stats are lower than most who posted here so far, which is why I was totally surprised to see the invite.

For those of you who know the area, is the school accessible by public transportation? If possible, I'd prefer to take a train from chicago to st.louis, then maybe get to campus via public transportation. Any help help would be appreciated.

Question for anyone who applied to all or most of the Jesuit schools (i.e. Creighton, Loyola, SLU, Georgetown). For those of you have have received an invite to one, does it seem to follow that you receive invites to most or all? I was just wondering because I applied to all of them, I love the Jesuit model in medicine, and thought I was a good applicant at all of them (from what I emphasized in essays, etc... but who doesn't think they're a good applicant, right?) Anyway, this is the only invite from them I've gotten, so I was just wondering others experiences. Not moaning about it or anything, just wondering.

Nope, I applied to most of them, and only one has shown me love so far.

And SLU is non-rolling right? When are decisions expected to come out? I'm submitting this within 1-2 days. I also applied to Wash U - St.Louis is one of the few cities I have visited and I really thought it was awesome. I had spent most of my life in Orlando, FL so it's not like I had much to compare to.

SLU is rolling; they start giving out acceptances starting from 10/15

I was told to expect a decision the first possible day. Hoping for a yes, obviously.
