What does people who interviewed on 2/21 being placed on the alternate list mean to me? I was interviewed on 2/14, but have not heard anything from them.

The last adcom meeting is April 27th, so everyone should have heard something by about the 28th.

Sorry to be "that guy," but has anyone who interviewed on 2/7 heard anything?

I know people who have interviewed after 2/7 have received decisions, so I'm just wondering what the deal is. They told us we'd hear within 6 weeks and I'm pushing 8........

I interviewed 1/31 and have not received any news either. Did you have Dr. Gibbons by any chance?

Interviewed 2/28
Alternate Listed today

Anybody know if SLU will tell you your rank, and if so if there's much movement on their list?

Just talked to the admissions office. They said they keep the rankings internal, so there's no way to find out where you rank 🙁

But they did say that there was a lot of movement off the list last year, and the expect the same this year, mostly after the May 15th date, all the way up to the week before classes

Okay, it will be 8 weeks since my interview next Monday. No word yet. Plenty of peeps have heard something with interview days well after mine. I'm starting to wonder......

EDIT: just spoke to admissions. My file hasn't been presented yet. There's still hope for people waiting......👍

Is there a computer requirement? If I get a Mac will I have any problems with some programs not being compatible?

Did anyone have their interview with Dr. Nora Porter?

does anyone know if there is a facebook group for next years class yet

i asked this same question a few weeks back, so it looks like the answer is no... If you have the time to make one, go for it!

i did! she was so nice, really laid back interview for me

Yeah I thought so too, but I'm just dying to hear back from SLU. I understand it depends on when your interviewer presents your file. Have you received a decision?

I would wait on that. Last year, the current M1s made an official Facebook page and then sought out accepted students. I'm not sure if that's taking place again this year, but I don't think the orientation committee is actually meeting to set things up yet.

As to wait list movement, students don't really discuss it among themselves, but I know of several of my friends who got waitlisted and accepted last year (some of them very late in the game... like mid-summer). I've heard a lot of our class was waitlisted at one point or another.

Also, I know someone kind of answered it earlier, but our first year class has ~180 students.

Ok, Im an international student who surprisingly enough, got invited for an interview. I went there in early march (I know I did a late interview) but my stats are good (40 on MCAT, gpa of 3.7).
1- Do u think that being invited for an interview is a good sign of my acceptance?
2- If I interviewed on march 8th, when should I be expecting a answer?
3- How many international do they take every year?

1. In general, if a school invites you for an interview, they think you are good enough on paper to go there. After that it basically comes down to your social skills. So with your stats, and assuming you were pleasant on interview day, I'd say it looks like you have a good shot (without knowing anything else about your application)!

2. I heard back after ~3 weeks (email), but some have had to wait longer (~8 weeks).

3. I wish I could tell you, but I'm not sure on this one.

Good luck!

I interviewed a day before you and have already heard back. I think it's a good sign that you haven't got the email yet. Best of luck! Oh, I'm also an international but with ~34 MCAT

Interview 3/7... Accepted today!... OOS

hey i am a 1st year student at SLU. if anybody is coming to St louis early and wants to sublet a room in a 3 bedroom place with 2 current male 1st years for June and/or July gimme a private message. Good opportunity to check out the city/school, meet some students, and find a place to live for the year.

And since I guess this is spam, I will make up for it by answering any questions people have about SLU. feel free to message me and I will reply! good luck everyone

Hey guys,

I'm a current 1st year here and I just made a facebook group for your class. It's called "SLU School of Medicine Class of 2015" super creative I know. It was helpful for a lot of people to find roommates, find places to live, ask questions about school, etc.

Hope it helps

As for being on the waitlist for SLU, would it be a good idea to send an update/interest letter? And if so, where would we send it (directly by email or by mail)? Thanks 🙂

9.5 weeks since interview. No decision. Class gets filled up while I wait to be reviewed. Mrrrrrrrr. Anyone else?

+1

It seems like their waitlist is ranked, so I'm wondering if it would help at all to send an update letter... anyone have any insight?

can't hurt, especially if you've got something meaningful to update with

Hi everyone. Sorry for being late to the party. Just joined the Orientation Team for incoming first years. Figure I hop on here to see if I can lend any input/encouragement and answer any questions. I notice a few people from my class have already been active here.

In any event, feel free to PM me any questions and I'll answer anything posted in the general forum as well. SLU has been awesome and everyone here is super friendly and supportive! We look forward to everyone who is coming here!

Is there any way that a current student can tell the school to notify accepted students about the Class of 2015 Facebook page? There are currently only 10 members...Thanks!

I just can't get my initial password to work on password.slu.edu...

anyone else having problems?

What's the password for? I haven't received anything from SLU lately...
I received an email from them regarding my SLU Net ID and password. Said password NEEDS to be changed before I can do anything.

I'm going to call them tomorrow and see whats up.

Thanks for the info. I wonder why I haven't received that email yet, I was accepted back in October.

Thanks for the info. I wonder why I haven't received that email yet, I was accepted back in October.

The info would have been sent to you once the received your deposit. It was included in the email saying your deposit has been received.

Last year's subject heading for that email was " Tuition Deposit and Accessing SLU Network". Hope that helps.

The first part of my email and the correct Idxxxxxx password. Something is wonked out. I'm going to be calling them.

Yeah, a few people had trouble with it last year as well. I assume you used only the last 6 # without all the zeros?

In any event, you got the right idea by calling 'em tomorrow. Good luck with it and congrats on coming to SLU!

Thanks for the info. I wonder why I haven't received that email yet, I was accepted back in October.

I was also accepted in October and haven't heard anything about password information and such.

Spoke too soon...got the email this morning, so maybe they are doing it in waves. I also had trouble logging in.

The Committee has voted and selected you as a member of the alternate list of students applying to enter in August 2011

Any suggestions?

Called the IT desk just now, they reset my password and that did the trick.

Has anyone gotten any FinAid stuff?
