Okay, sorry if this is an incredibly dumb question, but how does this intent to register + $100 thing work? Is it just indicating you might go to the school so they should hold your spot, or are you actually saying yes I am going to this school? Say when May 15th rolls around, could you have sent that $100 to five different schools but only actually accept one and then get $400 back? Thanks for your help! 🙂

The bolded part is what I'm assuming. You'll have to withdraw from the other 4 individually. You just have to realize that they probably worded the deposit email to try to get only the people who would consider attending to send it in.

accepted 10/25, secondary submitted 10/12, interviewed last year (yeah. didn't need an interview this year)
Good luck to everyone!

I was hoping if anyone could tell us how the applicants in the alternate list are ranked. by grades? interview? date of app. submission? Which factors play the most significance?

Thanks for any input!

After you get an interview, your interview plays the biggest role (granted, in order for the interview to go well, you need solid and interesting things in your application to drive the conversation). The alternate list is ranked based on your whole application in comparison to other applicants (not just grades, etc.).

accepted!!!! interviewed 10/10 with dr wilmore. =)

Interview: 10/4
Accepted 10/27

Good luck to the rest of you!

II Invite today!!😀 👍 very excited. For those of you who interviewed already, when did the interview day end, I am just wondering for flight booking purposes. Also, is the interview blind or open file. Thanks!

Stats if you don't mind? And CONGRATS!

Got the interview invite today. I never received an email stating my application was complete, though...??? I completed the secondary on 09/30, if that means anything.

Placed on alternate list today. Not too surprised as I thought my interview went terribly.

Interview invite yesterday. My first actually. I'm excited and so nervous! I submitted my secondary on 9/27. Never got a "complete" email either.

Submitted 8/25...sigh...

Does SLU review based on MCAT priority? Or can I assume that I've already been reviewed and am not good enough for an interview?

Question:

I've scheduled an interview at St. Mary's but a quick googling suggests that it's actually kind of far from the main campus. How exactly are we supposed to get from one place to another? Is there transportation, or am I going be needing a cab?

Anybody who interviewed at St. Mary's got any details?

How is the traffic going to be in the morning? What is the traffic like, for that matter, around the medical center?

There is no provided transportation so I took a cab and I think it was around $15. There should be a couple of other people interviewing at St. Mary's in the afternoon so you guys can split a cab together after lunch

Yes and no. From what I saw, they seem to prioritize via a number of factors. My day (one of the earlier interview slots) was basically all people who were also interviewing or had interviewed at places like WashU and Mayo. They generally had 35+ MCAT scores with sky-high GPAs and many had fantastic ECs (at least one or more of the above, most had at least 2 of the above it seemed). I, for instance, have a 3.8-something and a 32, but my ECs are, from what my interviewer's comments, ridiculous. Result: Accepted (about 3 weeks after the interview).

Traffic isn't a problem. There's a lot of road construction on Grand right now, but it's just a pain (lane closures). I haven't had a single issue with traffic near the med school. Come to think of it, the only places I've ever had to deal with traffic in Saint Louis are on Highway 64/40 at rush hour, highway 44 if there's a major accident or something, or Washington Avenue on Friday and Saturday night.

Ditto. 'cept I interviewed 10/4.

Congrats! And possibly see you in Aug!

Interviewed 10/4 as well! I don't know who you are but I remember everyone in the break room being super friendly so I hope to see you in August! 🙂

Nice. Yeah, that was a great group. I had fun getting to know you all! Have you been accepted yet? That would be awesome to see you in August.

Does anyone else see interview slots past November 29th? I got an II a few weeks ago but haven't scheduled it because they someone I talked to the admissions office said that more slots would open as the date approaches them. But for the past few weeks, there has not been any change in the available interview dates.

Yeah I have nearly a 4.0 and a 32 and I interviewed 9/20, so it is not by MCAT alone. I don't think my ECs could be described as excellent though. 1.5 years research with a poster, 1 year volunteering. Have a couple of jobs and member of a couple of clubs. Pretty average. Thought I bombed the interview too, had Dr. Perman and he was stiff. Hope to meet you next year if we both end up at SLU!

6 weeks and no decision yet!!!! Did you forget me SLU?

accepted! 😀

interviewed 10/4

sent in my 100$...
not my first choice school, but gonna wait to hear back from my others and then maybe drop SLU

Are II sent out on specific days of the week?

People that submitted their application around the same time I did already received II.

I got assigned my interviewer. My interview is at 10 am. Does this mean I dont need to arrive to the school until a little before that? Also is it a 1 on 1 interview? Is there anyway I can look up anything about my interviewer?

you don't need to be there until the itinerary says to. if your first item is the interview i think you can just arrive then. my interview was in the afternoon so i arrived around 11 for the talk/tour.

the interview is 1on1. i looked up my interviewer on the SLU website but that's it

Yup, try to aim for 15-30 minutes before to give yourself breathing room. 1 on 1. Looking them up isn't going to give you a leg up, you can google I suppose but I doubt much will come up about how they will interview you. See if they were talked about in this thread perhaps?

Interviewed recently at SLU and was very impressed with the school. Hoping for good news in '4 to 6 weeks'.

To answer a previous post, if your interview is at 10 you don't need to arrive long before then. When you get there you get an information package and get to wait for your interview in a conference room along with other applicants. Good luck!

Ok thanks for all of the help. My interviewer is Michael Railey if anyone has any experience with him? Also does anyone roughly know the percentage of people they accept that they interview.
