for all those nervous about not hearing a decision after your interview, don't worry! i interviewed nov 1st, and was accepted on 12/22. even though i heard back before the holidays, it still more than 7 weeks to hear back!

Does anyone know if those who are interviewing later in the cycle (Feb/March) are more likely to be wait-listed at St. Louis than accepted just because it is later in the cycle? Or are acceptances more spread throughout the season? I only ask because I've heard that at certain schools later in the cycle, acceptances have already been given and students are interviewing more so for wait-list spots. Wondering if this is true too at SLU??

I'm pretty sure that SLU is rolling admissions. The earlier you submit your application the more likely you are to be interviewed and accepted.

Certain other schools like BU do non-rolling admissions to give everyone an equal chance.

Yes, they are rolling admissions. They began making regular admissions offers mid-Oct, like all other rolling schools. As for how aggressive their admissions is, that I do not know. All I know is that they were my first interview invite and first acceptance (accepted within 2 months of applying), so I'd assume they are at least fairly aggressive with their admissions and recruitment.

Interview invite today! This was unexpected since I was complete back in late June.

Hello I am a Canadian applicant who interviewed on December 10th. I just received a criminal background check e-mail from Certiphi Screening, and in the e-mail it says that it is because I have either been waitlisted or been conditionally accepted. Do you know where I can check the latest status of my application? or would St. Louis be following up very shortly with their decision notice?

Thank you.

I would imagine that you should be hearing back pretty soon. I don't believe there is anywhere on the website portal that will tell you a decision. I personally received an acceptance email followed a couple hours later by a phone call from my interviewer.

Submitting the acceptance letter with a 100$ deposit is non-binding correct? Still waiting on other schools before making a decision. Thanks for the insight.

Yes, you have until May 15th to withdraw your acceptance for a full refund.

Has anyone else noticed that their Letters of Rec list has disappeared from your status page? What does this typically mean?

Mine's gone too, I don't think it means much. I'm almost 9 weeks post-interview waiting for ANY KIND OF NOTIFICATION.

It's killing me, seriously. I've been dying to be able to just go out and enjoy my first acceptance haha.

Alternate list here as well. Is anyone outright rejected after interviews or does everyone get placed on the alternate list?

Well, my status page doesn't display a Rec list either, but I couldn't tell you when that happened because I don't remember there being a list in the first place. I doubt it means much, though, because I only interviewed this week. When in relation to your interview did you notice it had vanished?

Okay, never mind. It seems that most people are placed on the alternate list post interview. Oh well, assuming rejection at this point. Waiting game for the first acceptance continues...

Hey for those of you who were alternate listed, who did you guys interview with?

Hang in there!

Does anyone know how many spots are left in the class? Does it seem as if they are interviewing for the waitlist at this point? I am interviewing next week and would love information on the probability of acceptance for late interviews! 🙂

Going by my experience last year, there were a couple acceptances reported on the thread, but the vast majority of us got waitlisted.

I can't say if this was because of how admissions went, or just the luck of those of us posting, but they did seem to be waitlist heavy on the second half of the cycle.

Interviewed Nov 29
Waitlisted Jan 30

Didn't help that my interviewer was 20 minutes late and still ended it on time? 25 min interview!

Good luck everyone waitlisted/about to interview here!

Bluvip...wow...25 minute interview? Hopefully that's a good thing...

lol.. my interview was the full 55 minutes, and only stopped b/c he didn't want me to be late for the tour. I was late for it anyway.

For anyone interested:

Office of Admissions: For the class of 2016, 319 students have been accepted; 49.8 percent are women and 7 percent are minorities. There are 6,016 applicants to this class.

Out of curiosity, how many acceptances does SLU intend to extend over the course of this cycle?

so the upcoming interviews are meant to fill up their wait list?

There aren't necessarily 319 active acceptances...I believe that number also includes anyone who was accepted but declined the acceptance. And as someone else mentioned and is the usual case, SLU accepts many more students than it expects to enroll. So I highly doubt that applicants are interviewing for a waitlist spot at this point. Lastly, I don't know the total number of acceptances that will go out, but if ~500 is correct, then there are still plenty of acceptances to go around. Sure, there will be some waitlist movement that will make up part of that 500 but most should be from direct acceptances.

From U.S. News there were 569 acceptances in total, and about 470 from out of state applicants. I generally trust their numbers.

I am interviewing tomorrow, so I hope to see some of you there!
Best of luck!

According to MSAR, a total of 1059 applicants were interviewed. That means more than half the interviewees were accepted! 🙂 Good luck tomorrow

Apparently they sent out a bunch of rejections (pre-interview) on Friday. I know about 5 friends who got them, but I still haven't heard anything. Hopefully this is a good thing? Who knows anymore.

I didn't get anything Friday either...still waiting...

Were they via email? I didn't receive one, and I just sent in an update about two weeks ago.

umm I just got a second interview invite via e-mail 😕😕 My interview's already been scheduled for next week. Anyone else getting this?

EDIT: the email says "...choose a St. Louis date. Interviews in St. Louis are conducted on Tuesdays." My interview's already been scheduled for a Monday. Does this mean I should re-schedule? I'll probably end up calling the office tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else got the same email.

You should offer it to the highest bidder....

I interviewed on 1/23, and I haven't heard anything yet. A student at the luncheon said she got an acceptance two weeks after her interview, so I hit the refresh button on my email every 10 seconds and I don't sleep. I might be losing my mind.

3.67 GPA, 38 MCAT, and I stumbled all over myself during my interview.

Nah your friend was a lucky exception. I interviewed on 1/17 and haven't heard back either, but I expect to wait another month. Similar stats as you.

They really should hurry up though.

I interviewed the same day but my interviewer told me 10 weeks. I think earlier in the cycle there was a shorter turnaround.

I interviewed 12/12 and I still haven't heard back... I hope I get some good news this week!!! 🙂

Various interviewees from 12/19 to 2/6 are being reviewed at the committee meeting this Wednesday. (Most are from December and early January.)

Do you happen to know the typical turnaround time between committee discussion and decision notification? If this has already been mentioned in this thread, give me a verbal slap in the face and I'll hunt it down myself... tomorrow. I'm just feeling a bit drowsy at the moment.

Don't worry about the time it takes to hear about your decision post interview. The interviewer may miss the applicant meeting due to clinical duties. It has no bearing on if you are waitlisted, accepted, or whatever.

It was great to meet most of you btw - I have been giving a lot of tours.

Interview Offer today! came as quite a surprise so late in the game. Almost thought I was reading a rejection letter haha

Congrats! I didn't get the rejction last week, so I'm hoping to get an interview invite soon, hopefully your email was because they are sending them out one at a time? and i didnt miss the last group
