Has anyone submitted their primary app recently?? OOS looking to apply, but afraid it might be too late. 3.6 GPA/34R MCAT, undergrad research (with 3 pubs), lots of volunteering and clinical/non-clinical experience. Any help would be appreciated!!

I am in the same boat with somewhat similar stats so I would love some input as well!

I was really interested in the school and it is one of my top choices but I wonder if it is worth paying for the secondary so late in the cycle (I have a fee waiver for all of my others)...hopefully it is totally worth it because I would love an opportunity to interview!

Can you tell us a little more about the area? What's the best way to get to RFU from Chicago OHare airport? Any other advice for someone who's never been to Illinois before? Thanks.

Personally, I took a taxi. That's the easiest way, and it was expensive, but not awful. The train is also doable, but I haven't taken it at all.

The BEST way, though, is probably to rent a car. RFUMS is about 40 minutes out (1.5 hours if you go at the wrong time) of Chicago, and having autonomy can be pretty nice.

Thanks for offering your help! How would you describe the social atmosphere at RFU? Do you get much opportunity to spend time in the city or do most people stick to the area right around campus?

People are social.

Most people stick to the area because it can take as much as an hour to go into town, but people do go in. It's completely doable, by train or car. Train is probably better; traffic gets awful.

Just wondering, will people that interviewed early hear back tomorrow cuz its the 15th?

Problem: for my amcas application, one half-year course is only 3 semester hours. However, for the course prereqs, it says it needs 8 semester hours.

So how am I supposed to go about this? I can take 2 semesters of each but it'll only be 6 hours.

I'd put money on tomorrow or Tuesday.

I had the very first interview date and it was exactly 5 weeks ago today. She told us 6 weeks until we'd hear that day. I swear I haven't been counting the days!!! No wait, I totally have hahaha

So that's where you went, Tantacles! I was wondering where you decided to go ever since you and I discussed Meharry last year. Congrats. 🙂 I hope I get to interview here, too.

Getting nervous. cGPA of about 3.60, MCAT 33R, still completing pre-reqs in my senior year, doing clinical research project with over 150 hours of volunteering at a dermatology clinic. Submitted the secondary last week and waiting for good news.

My top choice would be UofC for Chicago but I'm probably going to get rejected there.

Has anyone else been in the small pool since early august? Is there any hope for us to get an interview at this point or does it look like a silent rejection?

Email this morning that I finally dove into the 'small' pool-- entered primary screening 9/10

I have been as well (more like mid-August for me). I was wondering the answer to the silent rejection thing as well.

Small pools won't be silent rejections. I was small pooled last year in July and later received an actual rejection email in May!

Or it could be like me, small pooled in Sept and II late March.

Anyone else submitted the secondary in September but not complete yet? I submitted 4 weeks ago but haven't heard anything. I emailed the Admissions Office and left a message, but still nothing... getting worried.

I submitted 8/23 and still haven't heard anything =(. I emailed them a few weeks back about if my app is complete and they said yes, and that it is being screened and they will send an email after screening is complete. So maybe you are complete but not done with screening like me.

Hanging there.
I submitted last month and received a confirmation earlier this week.

Anyone been accepted yet? Seems they're taking a bit more time this'd year compared to last year.

I am also waiting anxiously for their decisions!!! Fingers Crossed ... Knock on the Wood ... Four Leaf Clover!!! rofl ... anything to get accepted! 😉

Anyone had to reschedule an interview? I had to email them today and my interview was supposed to be in a week, but some family stuff came up and there was no way I could have made it. Kinda nervous and really hoping they will let me reschedule

Good golly. Entered screening on 9/5. Finally small-pooled today. So you're saying an April II (if lucky) could be what's in store? Wowsers...

Passed primary screening today. Entered primary screening 9/10.

Yup, I interviewed on the last possible date and now I'm here 😀

That's awesome! It's a good reminder to us that interview season is not even close to being over at RFU

I've been screening since 8/29 and I haven't been small pooled yet 🙁

I took the hit for all of us and called. They said early next week. Here's to another weekend celebrating without an acceptance....

Haha, yeah, I was on the second to last possible date. Note, though, that I was accepted outright, so even if you get interviewed late, it's not "just for a waitlist spot" no matter what others might say.

I entered primary screening on 8/24 and haven't heard anything either.
Since the original email said 4-6 weeks and it was more than 6 weeks, I emailed on 10/9 and got a response 10/11 saying this....

"Thank you for contacting me. I have checked your status and you are still in the screening process. We are receiving a large amount of applications. We hope to have an updated status for you by the end of next week. Thank you for your patience with us in this process.

Best wishes,

Sara Nobbe"

I did not hear any updates last week though so I guess just more waiting....

this is frustrating---someone at the office told me I should hear from them within a week almost a month ago! the waiting game is no longer fun :-(

I know, I agree....I just wish they'd tell me already! Even if it's a rejection I feel like it would be better just to know.

Sadly it looks like we wont be getting information today since it is getting late =(

I don't know if I could wait til the morning.

I was accepted a half hour ago. Interviewed 9/17

Also just accepted 🙂 Which is weird, because I was just there on 10/17, and they said 4-6 weeks. And yes, it was through email.
