How often does this Wash U give II just due to high stats?
WashU changed leadership at the admission. The new director who took over this Jan is in the process of making the admission more holistic and to challenge the image that people been having about WashU and that WashU only cared about numbers.

I hope this turns out to be the case! I think me + Wash U is a great fit but I'm a bit low on the stats end. I would love to attend school here.

sorry if this has been asked already, but since i can't schedule my interview yet, i was wondering whether any of you could tell me when the interview day starts and ends?

It's extremely difficult to interpret, I agree haha. The MS4 leads you on the tour.

Everyone has two interviews this cycle. One is a traditional open-file 45-minute interview with a faculty MD (or possibly PhD? not sure), the other is a shorter, 20-minute closed-file interview ("CFI") with a member of the admissions department administration.

When you check in at the admissions office you'll be given a personalized itinerary for your day, here's what mine said:

8:00 am - Breakfast with Medical Students in Shell Cafe (optional)

8:30 am - Check-in

8:45 am - Orientation

9:15 am - Tour with Fourth Year Medical Student

12:00 pm - Lunch with Faculty: Drs. So-and-so

2:00 pm - Financial Aid

2:30 pm - Dean's Wrap-Up

Interspersed between those my interview times, locations, and interviewers were listed as well.

There was one guy of the group who have a short interview after the wrap up. Even that he was able to get out by 3:25. The train to airport can be accessed directly through the skybridge of the hospital complex, so we were able to make it to the airport in less than 30mins. The breakfast begins at 8, but you can be sloppy about it since everyone just sit around eat and chat.
They asked me for my flight information before they gave me the schedule to take it into consideration, which was really thoughtful.

I've recently started reading around this website, and I have found it useful to know when others post about their admissions progress. So here's to my first post-- I got an II tonight!

Congrats! Do you mind telling us when you were complete?

II for MD-only today (I'm an MD/PhD applicant), complete mid-August

Does anyone know what time the interview day is over? Trying to book my flight back.

As I recall, we were officially done at 3 pm. I scheduled my flight for 5:55 pm and had plenty of time to make it to the airport, get through security, and then hang out and have a nice long relaxed dinner in the terminal.

The trip to the airport is super quick and easy. The Metro Link takes less than 30 minutes and pretty much directly connects the med school with the airport.

Anyone know when acceptances come out?

I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain I remember someone speaking for the school on interview day tell us to expect them in December.

I know that their admissions committee meets in November for the first round of decisions. It was a question that I asked when I was interviewing.

Due to the lack of mention on the application website or in emails, I assume WashU is not receptive to pre-interview updates? Anyone know for sure?

I sent one and got a reply that it was added to my file.

WashU is open to pre-interview updates. I sent one last year and received an interview less than a week later.

I am a little confused by the interview itinerary. How many interviews do we have? How long are they?

Thanks

Two interviews with faculty. One is 45 min. One is 20 min. On the schedule, the fourth year medical student is the time that your tour is at. The faculty listed immediately before and/or after lunch are your interviews. The last two events on the itinerary are the financial aid presentation and the closing talk thing.

I sent one and they said it would be added to my file, and that they were planning to contact me within ~2 weeks about an interview (crossed fingers!).

II today! LizzyM~72, research heavy with pubs. This is definitely a reach school (although on some level aren't they all?), so I'm crazy excited about it! Can't wait!! Dates available were mid-December

Accepted today via status update and phone call!!!! 🙂 Interviewed at the end of October
First of all, congratulations!
Secondly, WUMS is moving madly fast this year!
Thirdly, wish myself the best of luck--interviewed around the very beginning of Nov...

Let me join in the wish for your "luck"--which is really more an acknowledgement that you and WUMS seem to be well-suited! Hope that your news is just what you would hope.

Congrats to all the accepted applicants! 🙂 And if you haven't heard, don't give up. WashU traditionally sends out acceptances once a month-ish and will re-review applicants that interviewed early with each acceptance batch.

Where can I send application updates for WashU? Can I access updates through the secondary application site, or is there an email address that I should address my concerns to? The site is currently not working, so I'm not sure what to do 🙁

Whew, glad I'm not the only one!

I'm applying MSTP, so I called their office and they told me a particular staff member to send my update to. I'd call MD admissions. Hope that helps!

Is this information searchable on the internet regarding Dr. Ratts and her vision for the future of WUSM? I can't seem to find anything beyond the fact that she is the new Dean of Admissions.

I haven't seen this in writing, but the way she was talking on interview day certainly seems to correlate.
