2016-2017 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For people who interviewed here, in your MMI were you allowed to write the note after reading the prompt and look at it while answering?

Has anyone else received an "on hold for re-review" email? I guess it was just nice for them to update me. Ugh. Secondary submitted 7/12, Received complete email 8/12, LizzyM ~70, I guess this update is within the 8-10 week window.
I never got a email for re-review.
I did, however, receive a complete email saying wait will be 8-10 weeks, and then 4 weeks later a "thank you for waiting - wait another 4-6 weeks" lol.

When did you get the 4-6 week email? I got it around 5-6 weeks ago and no other news since then!

I literally submitted on 8/10... still no complete e-mail.. I called admissions office and they said they had all my letters, I have no idea why I haven't gotten a complete e-mail yet.

It takes a while for them to process all of their 10k+ applications. From my own experience and many others' on SDN, the typical waiting period between when you submit your secondary and get the complete email is ~2 months. Don't worry, it's coming

Lol I'm still not complete at this school but submitted most things by late July and letters by Aug 10th... oh well

Submitted everything in mid July (and no complete email)...anyone in the same boat?

What did the email say, if you don't mind me asking? 🙂

"Dear Applicant:

Thanks for sharing. Were you in the first interview group?

Just got an II (complete early July) but will probably turn it down due to cost....feeling torn since it's still before October 15/17 so no acceptance in hand to make it easier agh

Congrats!! Did you ever get the 4-6 week email and if so, when?

I got an 8-10 week one in early August (the app complete one), no 4-6 ever! Oh and the original 2 week one that a ton of people got in late July! the 22nd. Not sure how the email system works!

Thanks! I'm not sure how it works either. I got the 8-10 email the same time that you did a then the 4-6 email a few weeks later. Now I am coming up on 8 weeks from the first email and 6 weeks from the second email! Hopefully I'll hear something back soon 🙂 Congrats again.

Haven't picked a date yet (trying to figure out what works best!) but the available dates were anywhere from this Friday (lol) to about a month out, if that's what you were wondering?

Yeah...I thought about this Friday...but isn't that a bit too short notice?

I guess it might work if you live around Chicago? But I'm sure they totally get that most people couldn't catch a flight out with 2 days notice

Complete!

Post-interview hold today. Interviewed in early September.

Only holds/rejections can come out now. No acceptances until 10/15

I'm wondering if this applies to other schools besides RFUMS...as in are allopathic schools allowed to give out holds/rejections post-interview before the October 15th date?

To anyone who has interviewed, was there a room where they can keep your luggage?

Did anybody else get the II invite today and then not be able to schedule a slot?

I got the email ~12:50 and by the time I was able to log in at 5ish, all the slots were taken. I signed up for the waiting list, but the wording in the portal* when I got on the WL and the limited slots made me start panicking a little.
I really like CMSRF, but I don't have a unlimited travel budget or no responsibilities to schedule around, so it's pretty frustrating to not know how to get this scheduled.

*Can only sign up for the WL once, will lose your slot if you don't schedule the next available date, unclear if they will let you know when the next dates post or if you just have to check obsessively.

NVM. I just checked the portal again and a slot popped up. Whew!

Anybody else going to be there for the 11/4 AM interview?

Edit: Just booked a flight and I'll be getting to O'Hare at 7pm on 11/3, so if anybody wants to share a ride up to N. Chicago around then, let me know.

Congrats! What was your mcat?
I have a high MCAT, low GPA, so it made figuring out where to apply quite challenging and is one of the main reasons I applied here. I liked their focus on diversity, and the slightly lower than average GPA suggested they might give me a look. I ended up with a 518 MCAT.

Congrats dude! I hope I can see similar results. I have a 520 MCAT and ~a 3.5 gpa but have yet to get an MD II
