To those who've received an II, are you experiencing severe lag when accessing your WUSTL app account? I know the problem isn't my Internet connection because I've tried logging in on different computers in different networks.

Yep, same issue here. It works but very slow especially on the calendar

Those two days appeared as newly opened for me, sorry you missed them 🙁

Kinda weird that they opened up earlier days though instead of later ones... I've just been checking whenever I opened up my lap top every few hours.
I need to be more diligent about checking I guess but it doesn't help that it lags so much when I actually try

I'm getting stressed out from this. I feel like I'm gonna lose my interview if I don't schedule one soon enough lol. I really hope they put up some late October dates tomorrow.

Same here honestly, I might just call them and ask tomorrow

More dates were posted today but still none of them work. Looks like they're posting one week at a time. I need a date 2 weeks away 🙁 hope they don't think I'm just uninterested.

The 25th of september is opened up again if anyone wanted that date. Anyone else still waiting on a date? It's been a few days now so I'm getting a little antsy with constantly checking the schedule. I wish they'd just let us call and schedule one...

Does anyone have the issue of letter not approved by the admission office after being received for two months? I just submitted the secondary today and the app is incomplete because the letters were not approved. Should I try calling the office next week if the status does not change?

It's pretty low, I think it was around ~30% according to the US news report.
I thought that was the matriculation rate? I’ve heard that a lot more people end up having to get accepted here cause the retention yield is so low

I think you're thinking of northwestern who has a ~75% acceptance rate

Just checked and last year's was a 36%. They interviewed 1083 and accepted 392.

I got an interview a while back but I was finally able to schedule it since they opened up a ton of new dates

Wow WashU is the real MVP. To people who don't know (if you get an interview, don't miss out), they offer a free 1 bedroom/bath reservation (as opposed to just putting you on a current student's couch) for interviewees. Are there any other schools like that? Because I'm so impressed right now.

I know I love them for that lol. Saves so much trouble and money. Plus my tickets to fly in were super cheap so this is probably gonna be my lowest cost interview that I have to fly to.

Good news is they also serve you breakfast and walk you to the admissions office as a group since your room is a 20 second walk from your interview and food

For those who received the file complete email, how long did it take for you to receive it after you submitted your secondary? My reference letters were received in July (yet to be "approved") and I submitted my secondary last week. How long should I wait before I call to ask about this situation?

I encountered the same problem. I contacted them using the messaging system in the application portal a day after I submitted the secondary to inquire about the rec letter approval, and a day later my letter got approved and application complete.

Oh, I will do the same. Thank you!

Does anyone know the policy for internally transferring from MD to MD/PhD at WashU? My fiancee got an MSTP interview to WashU, but I got rejected so I subsequently selected to still be reviewed by the MD committee. However, I am strictly interested in the MD/PhD Program. Since our dream is to study together, I was wondering if anyone can shed light on the chances of internal transferring from the MD to the MD/PhD stream (this is if I get interviewed and she get's accepted)?

Internal transfer is possible. As an MD student, you'd submit a transfer app (on which you'd discuss your research, motivation for transferring, etc). This usually happens in M1-2. If granted an interview, you would join one of the normal interview dates with non-transfer applicants. You'd be held to the same standards as non-transfers when they make admissions decisions.

They take 2 transfers each year on average, but it partially depends on how many MSTPs matriculate in your year--Wash U has no obligation to fill "empty slots," but they're more inclined to accept transfers into a class that happens to be on the smaller side. Successful transfers usually express interest early and are encouraged to do lab rotations, participate in MSTP journal clubs, etc. before ever applying. But, like I said, you're given no preference and it's not a sure thing.

Checked my spam and had two emails from WASHU - one saying they set me up to stay at a hotel but I'm IS so I was planning on staying with my family and had indicated I didn't need lodging on the Travel tab - so if you got an II from WASHU even a while back I would suggest checking spam again

When are you interviewing? I haven't heard anything about this hotel room!

Very excited to be interviewing here next week!
Couple questions, does anybody know if the interviews are open/closed file, how many there are, how they usually go, etc?
Also, if youre staying at the Core, their provided housing, are we allowed to have a guest stay with us?

Checked on MSAR the other day about the interview day. Apparently it's a 1:1 open, unstructured interview.

complete here 7/5 but radio silence ever since...anyone else with this status? wouldn't be surprised if i got passed up/silently rejected since my stats aren't up to par but still holding on to some hope

So they offer free lodging for one night, you guys think it'll be awkward asking for accommodation for two nights?

You have to pay $55 to stay a second night. Still less expensive than a hotel room, if that was your alternative.

I got a brochure and letter from Wash U yesterday encouraging me to apply because of my “high MCAT score.” Is there anything to that? I haven’t applied there. Is there any point to doing it so late? It wouldn’t require any additional essays. And btw, my MCAT is 516, which is significantly below their admitted average,

I got one last week too, I'm thinking they send one to everyone above a certain percentile. You'll never know if you don't try, I think you should shoot your shot especially if it doesn't require extra writing 😉

For those who have interviewed already and utilized their lodging services, what was that like? Were they dorms? Are significant others allowed to stay with us? Thank you so much!

(Received an II on 9/14/18, complete 7/17/18, LizzyM~77, ORM, OOS)
