2019-2020 Oakland (Beaumont)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Wait did you have to reach out to them to sign up?
It was a link on the email I believe. You fill out a small questionnaire online and they try to match you with somebody.

Edit: yes I just checked. It’s towards the bottom on the interview confirmation email 🙂

Everyone who has received an II submitted in July. I submitted mine in late August...I guess I wont hear back atleast until October perhaps

OUWB, like most medical schools, don't necessarily go in order

I can't think of a single med school (except for Tulane probably) that goes through all apps submitted July 1st, July 2nd, July 3rd... etc

ok cool. I havent heard anyone on here who submitted in August saying they have received an II so I assumed OUWB may go in order. Perhaps I may be wrong.

those few exceptions are "few" because theyre on SDN.

additionally, there are tons of confounding variables in regards to getting interviews, especially this early in cycle. e.g., high stat applicants tend to submit early, are active on SDN at disproportionate rates, etc. point being, come back in 2-3 weeks and you'll see a whole breadth of dates being invited. its still very, very early in the interview season

I don't think Tulane even does. I was complete day one but still didn't get my interview until early August, which for Tulane is a month into their II season

Current M1 here. Hang in there everyone. I was complete mid August. Submitted an update around October. Invited to interview early January and accepted in February. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about OUWB
Do you think your update letter helped? What did you update them with, if you dont mind sharing?

If you re-take MCAT in January, would they still take it?

Your LM is 72. If you don't mind me asking, did you have community service/ volunteer work? Just curious since clearly your stats are not issue. Just trying to better understand how they eval. Congrats on all your other IIs

Yes, I have 2000+ hours of community service, both medical and non-medical. I'm not sure the reason for the R! Oh well 🙂 Best of luck to you!

I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but does anybody know the approximate post-II acceptance rate here?

Are you sure those are the right numbers?

1517 + 6404 = 7921
174 + 278 = 452
58 + 64 = 122
