2019-2020 UCLA (Geffen)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For those that have been accepted to UCSF and UCLA (or waiting to hear back from LA), which way are you leaning?
I’m absolutely shocked, but this is my exact dilemma right now, and I have no idea what I’m going to do. I’ve been scoping out past forums where people have been in the same situation, and it seems that most people advocate going for the money (assuming you get the Geffen scholarship).

Anyone write thank yous etc to their interviewers or the dean and not receive a reply?

No reply. But then again, I sent it to the office as I didnt have their direct emails and I got a reply from the adcomo staff saying:
"Thank you etc. We will forward them to the interviewers etc.." More than 2 weeks after I sent my Thank yous. :dead:

There are quirky schools out there that care deeply about communication/thank yous etc.
I don't think UCLA is one of them.

That makes sense! Both are such great institutions where you couldn't possibly make a wrong choice choosing one over the other based on academics or opportunities. It probably will come down to financials and personal preference for SF vs LA. I've spent most of my life in LA so I am a bit biased, but I would choose UCLA over UCSF. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions about the campus or LA in general. Congrats on being accepted to both!!

For those of you who were accepted, do you get an email with the acceptance letter attached or do you have to sign in to the portal to find out?

Okay, so, just to confirm, the "pre-matriculation" tab only appears on the portals of those who have been accepted, correct? Do any 'non-accepted yet' students have the "pre-matriculation" tab on their portals? Thank you!

nope, no pre-matriculation tab. Have any December interviewees heard back?
