This may be a dumb question, but should I just consider myself rejected at this point? My advisor tells me that silence 2 months after an interview either means a rejection or low ranking on the waitlist.

Your advisor (assuming you mean your PI) has not been in this process for presumably 10+ years or has never actually been through this process (assuming you mean your premed advisor).

This comment only indicates that they have no idea what they're talking about and that you might want to not listen to them. There's plenty of schools that don't even send out decisions until February/March as they're not rolling. Does your advisor think only people who interview in December/January are accepted to those schools?

That is definitely not necessarily true.

This is definitely not true considering WashU explicitly stated that they would release a majority of their decisions at the end of March. You've still got a shot!

homie i feel you! when'd you interview? i was in sep and im like theres just no way at this point that its not a r/wl

When I interviewed a member of the admissions team indicated that the adcom meets every month, so there could be another round of decisions soonish. But I'm just resigned to the long wait tbh

For those who received IIs on Jan 6th, would you mind sharing how long into February they have dates available for interviews?

Did they explicitly say in the interview day that most acceptances go out in March or is that just sdn talk

At my interview day the dean said “We’re SLOOOOOOWWWW” literally like that and said he could guarantee a decision by the end of March and that was it. They are historically slow and their curriculum change along with taking 25 fewer students in the final class is likely complicating things further.

I thought all medical schools had to release decisions by March 15th? Am I wrong about this? Thats what they told us at Penn.

I thought the class size reduction already happened in the last cycle?

They said they would accept exceptional candidates sporadically from nov to March. But the majority of the acceptance will come in March.
I highly doubt they said that. I interviewed in September, they told us "we should expect to hear by march". some guy asked if we can expect to hear earlier since we were interviewing early in the cycle (implying that he is "special" because he got an early interview), and the admissions person said explicitly no.

I got the acceptance call and also I know two other people who got accepted shortly after the interviews. Go back to check the history of this thread.

They have accepted many shortly after their interviews already. It seems true that the majority will be accepted in March, but they have been rolling acceptances all along already. Go back and read this thread.
ETA: on my interview day they explicitly explained that this would be happening as well.

They have been giving acceptances to a few students sporadically. I'm more curious to know how many they've given out already and how many we can expect in March.

When dean Ratts called me, she said that only very select candidates get in this early, and she didn’t specify how many.

Does the tour involve walking outside or is it all inside? For those who interviewed already, are boots advised if the tour is outdoors?

Who do we address update letters or letters of interest to? And how do we submit them?

Anyone want to be a champ and call and ask when merit money is coming out?

why don't you just call? I truly for the life of me can't understand these ridiculous posts asking people to call about basic info. do you think they have some ledger where they record everyone who's been accepted that calls and asks a question like that, which they then look at later and say "oh man.. this guy called and asked.. such a shame, he was gonna get a full tide too..."

my gosh. worst case they just can't provide an answer

why does everything here have to turn into some sort of personal attack?

Don’t come here crying when they put you on the ledger for calling and you miss out on 250k

From the tuition letter in the admissions portal: "all accepted students are considered for merit scholarships. These scholarships are typically awarded in mid to late April"
