Interviewing tomorrow and nervous about getting said "stress" interviewer. Those who had that experience- was it the difficulty of the questions or the speed/intensity with which they were asked that made it stressful. GL to everyone else headed there tomorrow too!

There’s a stress interview?

Ok there seems to be some unwarranted fear on this thread about having a “stress” interviewer(s). One of my interviews was stressful not because the interviewer was out to get me, but because they asked some rather unusual questions that I wasn’t primed to answer. This, in and of itself, is stressful but is also completely fair. Depending on who you interview with, you may or may not get these left-field questions, but be ready for anything. Know your application inside and out, stay calm, and enjoy the interview. Overall, it will be very lax and conversational.

Does anyone know when the last date of interviews are and if IIs are still being sent out? Or is there no chance at this point 🙁

Last year they Interviewed until the end of February. Last confirmed Interview date is currently mid-February, so there's potential for a repeat. I'm hoping they send out decisions first week of March again as well :vulcan:

I wonder if this means that’s the last interview date? Since they usually give out more than one option

Anyone who interviewed/attends school here knows if this is true?

Current student here. Was originally going until end of Feb but now 2/13 is tentatively the last day and all the interview slots are filled unless something changes.

Any insight on what's going behind the scenes, like if they might release decisions a bit earlier since last interview is 2/13? Will they be more conservative with acceptances because of the new debt-free initiative?

Any reason for the change you could think of?

Is it true that they only send out 100 acceptances initially and then pull from the waitlist once people start making their decision? I was confused bc on the USNews post-II spreadsheet it says they accept ~340 but that seems pretty high.
That probably hasn’t been updated with regards to the whole debt free thing now

I’m guessing you are confusing Acceptances with Matriculated? Remember there is a percent yield.

FWIW, I got an II last week and I sent them an update after months of silence back in December. Unsure if it helped, but maybe?

EDIT: On that note, does anyone have an idea of the interviews are like?

You will have two interviews which are completely open file. For the most part, my interviews were largely conversational, although there was a question or two that caught me off guard. That said, if you know your app (including your classes) inside and out, you should be more than fine 🙂

Good luck!

Where do thank you letters go? (Probably been asked ad nauseum by now)...

Is this typically subject to change? My MS1 friend said last year she got a II in March and interviewed in April.

But where is your friend an MS1? During interview day, Weill explicitly told us that the class will be decided in March. According to Seikuken, the interview slots have been filled, and if someone were to cancel last minute and Weill really wanted to continue interviewing, the interviews would go into late Feb/early March--April seems to definitely push it for Weill. However, there are other schools that interview into April. Best of luck if you're still holding out--this was my first and only interview (II 1/29 a few hours after I called), so I know how it feels to walk that tightrope.

Lol to your interviewers! If you're e-mailing, find their email. If you're snail-mailing, find the correct postal address. If you're unsure of either of these things, there's no harm in calling up and asking. I know cause I called 😀 They're so friendly :')

Oh sorry, didn't make it clear. She's an MS1 at Weill rn and she got her II in March for an April interview. But yea that makes sense ... and I'm sure the interview season varies from year to year

Cornell lists on their website that IIs go until early spring (which is typically March) so that’s disappointing. They also say “we work in order of completion date” but people complete 2 months after me have received II and Rs.
I’m sorry you’re also in this limbo state. I was complete early Aug so that’s why I’m more confused why I haven’t received an R yet.

It probably means you guys are still in consideration for a last minute interview. I think no news is good news applies well here. I received my II late Jan after a July complete date, even after several waves people complete before and after me had received IIs/Rs
