2020-2021 Duke

I thought I saw that decisions would more likely be out end of February this year. But if you guys think it's possible they're coming out sooner, do you think it's too late to send them the update I had intended to?
There was a limited timeframe post-II to send an update on the portal after which they stop accepting anything except LOIs via email

Right, I'm talking about the update/LOI they allow via email!

Did any MSTP interviewees get an acceptance call today? Seems like calls have gone out on Wednesdays in the last couple years.

I was also under the impression that MSTP decisions usually come out about a week before the school of medicine's decisions, and since I'm pretty sure the MSTP decisions are supposed to come out this week, I would guess that the school of medicine decisions are coming out either this week or next week.

My guess is next Friday, I think the past few years it has been Friday or Wednesday. This week seems like not enough time if interviews were until 2/11? I have no real evidence to back up my feelings but I’m nauseous with anticipation waiting

Does anyone know if Duke sends out all A's on the same day? Do any WL/R's go out that day as well or do those get sent later?

Has anyone seen changes in their portal? From last year's thread, it seemed like essays disappeared for those accepted/waitlisted.

I believe the essays that disappeared last year were from the interview day. They did not have that activity this year so probably won’t happen.

Aw shoot there goes my attempt to dig for clues. I remember Andrea saying after the MMIs that decisions will be made at the end of Feb. Only one more week left!

Hahahah I was looking at last year's thread too. Shoutout to @Medsthetic for this comment from 1 year ago lol

Can I submit a formal apology to Duke for how awful my VITA is? Honestly feel like it ruined my application.
I feel like in my interview they said they would only look at VITA if they wanted any extra information or if they felt like certain aspects of me as an applicant hadn't been revealed throughout the MMI...they made it sound like a super tangential part of the application (and I sure hope that's true). I can't imagine anyone putting a lot of weight on something like the VITA...I would try not to stress about it, and I hope it all works out for you!

Thank you so much! This was actually really helpful in keeping me from freaking out too much about it.

So are we expecting decisions to come out this week? Since late february ends after this week?

I laughed at one of the questions because it was so dumb. Worried about it for a few weeks...then just let it go. My vita was terrible!

I emailed this morning to find out if they've chosen a date. I was sent back "We have not made the admissions decisions yet. We will let you know as soon as the decisions are been made. " :/
Don’t let this make you fully believe that they won’t start this week with them though! Because they are a school that sends practically all acceptances/rejections/waitlists within the same few days I’m sure they would never tell an applicant when it will specifically be because then they have some insider info that other applicants don’t have. Further, saying “we have not made the admissions decision yet.” could legit just mean that they are finalizing it and just haven’t sent them out yet. It doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be this week! It’s a long process, but we are almost there regardless! Because they make decisions at the same time, I really hope that if it goes past Feb they send an email update because literally hundreds of students are waiting right now and Duke knows they told us all (as well as the portal stating) that decisions will be the end of Feb. I doubt they would leave everyone hanging if it’ll be extended by long. (I hope lol)

Yea I believe Duke has been telling folks in the latest II dates to expect an end of Feb release date so this seems more like "we haven't released them yet" rather than "our committee hasn't met yet"

I emailed them a few weeks ago and they said my application had already been evaluated. So i guess what they mean is once “ALL decisions have been made” then theyll release them all at once. But for now, they don’t know when they will be doing that (even tho they said mid to late feb LOL)

I was also told I had already been evaluated when I emailed an update a week ago. But it was unclear to me if that meant they didn't want to add new stuff to my application this close to decisions being made, or if they had already made a decision about my application.

They only accept post-II updates for two weeks after your interview. I tried sending an update in early January and they said I had already been evaluated and they wouldn't review the update, so I don't necessarily think that their reply to your update is indicative of decisions coming out soon.

Does this mean regular MD acceptances should start coming out later this week?
