Is it me or is this school giving out a ton of II's? I understand that they are sending them well in advance.

yea I'm getting tulane vibes from geisinger LOL. Scheduling march interviews in early October is crazy
I interviewed here last year and they definitely didn't schedule this far in advance lol at this point I'm giving up on hearing back from them if they're already scheduling into March

It's so strange that they're booked until March since they interview a ton of people at once. There were around 40 applicants on mine back in 9/21 and I was in the "evening session" so they do 2x/day. How many people are they interviewing 🤔 🤔 ?

It was one of my more stressful interviews certainly. The student interview was extremely friendly and conversational, and I had a lot of time to ask questions. The faculty interview though... painful. It was a lot of grilling, very specific questions, and almost combativeness from the interviewer. Perhaps this was intentional to see if interviewees squirm under pressure; perhaps it was just my interviewer who didn't look kindly on my experiences and responses. Either way, I'd go in prepared for an absolute grilling, and if you make it out better than I did, you'll be relieved! 🙂

Hey! I'm sure you did much better than you think. How long was your interview? Was it an all-day out program or just the few hours with your interviewers?

For those who interviewed, what is the structure of interview day like? Is it all-day? 1-2 hours with interviewers?

Based on past years do you think we're expecting post-ii decisions this Thursday/Friday?

Hey y'all so I have an interview scheduled for Tomorrow. They never sent me the schedule of what the day will be like. Can someone who interviewed already or who knows how it

I haven't interviewed yet but I believe on the portal they provide a sample schedule under the 'Interview' tab!

My interview was on 9/21 sooo

Hi guys! For those of you that have interviewed, can you tell me a bit about what to expect? (you can message me if you prefer). I'm really nervous and have an interview next month!

I found the interview process to be very very laid back. It was a full day of presentations, interviews, and more presentations (about 9am to 2pm.) There was a lunch break. My first interviewer was an MS2 student, and the second was a physician. They both made it very easy, conversational, and relaxed. Just go in with the confidence that you are what they want! You got an interview, they are interested in you!

thank you so much! congratulations on your acceptance <3

So, slightly neurotic rant with a question for you guys/girls. I received an II on 8/21 and interviewed on 9/11 and the first thing my faculty interviewer said was “I’m gonna be honest, I haven’t even looked at your application, so I’m just kind of winging it”, and he expressed several times that it was the first interview he’s given. I connected with him well and related to him on a personal level, but we hardly discussed the program and he skipped over multiple questions the committee gave him. For several questions he said something like “oh well you can’t even answer that, let’s move on”. With that being said, I received a deferred status earlier today and I can’t help but feel that that’s a result of my superficial interview given that my interviewer knew very little about me and wasn’t able to adequately ask the questions or discuss what the admissions committee was looking for. I feel I match their mission exceptionally well and I’m IS w/ ties to the area and program, strong ECs with an LM of 70.

Geisinger is at the top of my list, and I’m debating on contacting the committee to discuss these concerns. However, I certainly don’t want to undermine their process and step on anyone’s toes and ruin the possibility (if any) of an acceptance later in the cycle. I recognize that there is a lot of unfairness in the medical school application process, but this one seems to be unprecedented. What would you guys/girls do?

I would totally reach out to the school with this information. Trust me, a school will want to know about this sort of concern regarding their interviewers much like they want to know about them asking any sexist or ageist questions. If you present your information respectfully and not make it seem like you are begging for them to change their decisions, and more as providing feedback, the school will not fault you for this experience. They will most likely ensure that this does not happen again if it is truly a school worth attending. I understand your hesitation but don't allow yourself to be a victim of the system. I would personally bite the bullet and advocate for myself in your situation.

If only they let you change already late interviews to earlier ones :/

Does anyone know if they release decisions all on one day or periodically??

II today! But when I go on the portal, all the dates are grayed out through Feb.... does anyone know how to actually select an interview date?

Were you able to select a date? It took me a while and the interface kept freezing (both on Safari and Chrome), but I kept clicking the front and back arrows on the calendar and eventually two dates popped up!

I'm also having this problem. All dates through May are grayed out for me. (tried the clicking back and forth and 3 browsers)
