I am not sure! With us going through COVID this cycle, I would think that they are still sending out interviews since everything is so delayed! They were supposed to be done interviewing by Feb but people are interviewing in March! So I wouldn't give up hope just yet!

You could always contact them? I am sure they would understand since it has been such a weird cycle.

I felt I checked all of their boxes, exceeded their median MCAT and GPA, wrote glowingly about how I feel I fit there mission, and have even helped them out with their community health projects (that ended with me being an author on a research poster with their faculty). Don't give up hope! This has been a crazy cycle!! Look on the positives, you weren't rejected flat out! They see potential in you. I just feel that since so many people applied this cycle, they want to make sure that everyone that qualifies gets a chance to interview. This includes you too! I know the waiting is agonizing... trust me, I know... But it's only a little bit longer!! Believe in yourself and your ability. You did everything you could and gave your application your all! That is all that matters. Regardless of the outcome, you should be proud 🙂
 
Had a **** show busy week and just realized I didn't send 'thank you' emails to my interviewers (interviewed on Wednesday). Do yall think it's too late to send them now? Also, I didn't get their email so I would have to email the general admissions email and they will forward it to my interviewers...

What looks worse: not sending them or sending them late?

It doesn’t matter; as long as you thanked them sincerely during interview, you are fine

I never sent a thank you email. Still got in. You're fine.
 
Hello! Does anyone know what the protocol here is to cancel an interview? I just got accepted to a school that I would 100% attend instead of Geisinger and wanted to cancel the interview I have scheduled for this coming Friday. I just withdrew my application from the portal but I wasn't sure if there's someone I should call/email?

I would email Kristen Greene just as a courtesy to make sure they fill that interview slot! Although I'm sure they probably know but everything is computerized so it's prob best to shoot her an email

"Updates for the Admissions Committee
Applicants may submit up to two meaningful updates to their AMCAS application after submission. Examples include, but are not limited to: completion of a degree program, research publications/presentations and significant community service. Submissions must be emailed to the admissions office as a PDF attachment."

I sent one update including shadowing and work experience, after my interview. I'm saving a second update for a letter of intent, if I am waitlisted in a couple months.
 
Is it just me or do you guys get tired of waiting?
interviewed on 11/4, haven’t heard anything since. Initially, I used to check email and SDN every 5 mins. Now, I’m just not as interested and it’s like I don’t even think about it anymore. I’m like it will come when it comes, not gonna lose sleep over it.

Yea, I interviewed on 11/9. Feeling the same way. I think it's a safe bet that both our cohorts will find out next week based off last year's thread. Looks like the 26th - 28th.
 
How open do you guys think GCSOM is to applicants with MCATs on the lower level? I have an interview next week and am terrified they are going to bring that up!

I had a relatively low MCAT, ill just say i scored within range of 508-510 *hint hint* and they didn't say a single thing about it. dont worry, i think after you get an II they look at everyone the same.
 
My MCAT isn’t the best (507) and I have an interview coming up too.
If they’ve offered an interview, they’ve looked at your WHOLE app and decided your good enough! If would be slightly odd to bring that up as an actual issue. If I get asked about, I plan to say that “I know I could’ve done better, but given the circumstances I am proud of my score” or something like that

Oh man, I interviewed 11/18 and I'm feeling the same way you are!! Just a few more days and we will get peace of mind lol

I am actually already 100% committed to GCSOM bc their Scholars program. I understand it is still early in the cycle, but does anyone know if there is an accepted student FB group?

Did you receive notice that you were accepted to the scholars program?
 
I have a feeling that these pre-II holds are indicative on how many people accept their admittance next week. I feel like those that don't accept will allow those on interview holds to receive an interview slot.

I was told that Geisinger received the most applications they ever had this year so I think they want to give everyone, who deserves one, a chance.

That is just my thought lol.
