2020-2021 George Washington

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
No hold or under review or any update since being complete 7/30. Low stat so kinda thinking I got the silent R lol

From my experience last year, silent Rs don't happen. The steps seem to be - You are reviewed, given an interview. Or reviewed, put on hold, reviewed again - interview or rejection. Silence is good until its bad.

From eyeballing this thread - it looks like IIs are made within ~ 3 weeks of submission (again, not a definitive statement, just looking at the time difference between submit & interview)

Feels more like there are two groups of assessors, one group is currently at ppl who submitted 7/30 on their list. The other is currently on 8/10 on their list. If you think you have been skipped, nah, ur just on the slower/ lagging list. - I think.

has anyone on hold gotten off an received an II yet?

or have all the IIs been from people who didn't get put on hold at any point?

Complete date?

It says the form submitted July 21st? Is that the correct submission date? Also the notice was probably there for a while but I just never knew to check the portal I was expecting a rejection email or something lol

Also thank you for this this makes me feel a bit better lol!

for people who had interviews, how are you sending thank you notes?

not sure exactly when it happened, but for those that want to know, I'm on hold. submitted 8/3. LM 69

I'm curious, do they ever reject anyone outright, or do they just place everyone who didn't get an interview the first time on hold?

I was complete on 8/6 but no status change, even though I’m seeing people who completed later getting put on hold. Should I be worried?

Lol same stats and also OOS. Hoping that is a good thing
On the same boat as you are. Submitted on 08/01. Still radio silence. LM 69-70 OOS.

Not necessarily a good thing but also not a bad thing. I imagine different reviewers look at different apps. Some might be quicker than others. So some might have been put on hold right away. Since they have not put you on hold yet, you may be under consideration for interview during an admissions committee meeting(just like any other applicants) but you might get put on hold too.

I definitely think there are different reviewers or diff piles. One is going faster than the other/rest. I was put on hold last week and I was complete 7/29. This was after people who were complete well into August (8/3 - 8/7) were already put on hold.

So we might be in the same pile then

What do you mean you were on hold until last week? Were you given a II? My application is still being reviewed and I was complete 7/30...

Oh wow, I mistyped. My bad. I was put on hold last week.

Has anybody gotten the R from here yet or is everybody not offered an II being put on hold?
Take this with a grain of salt because COVID has changed everything, but last year, the pre-II R emails began in Oct. A handful of people have gotten off of hold statuses to receive interviews and acceptances on SDN, but no one knows exactly what proportion of holds get the chance to do so.

Just gotta hold on for dear life in the meantime! :drowning:

I took the MCAT back in June and then again in August. I was put on hold for re-review before my second MCAT score came in but status has not changed since I got the new score last week. Bummed because my second MCAT was pretty good and I thought they put the entire app on hold until all my scores were in. Hoping I get re-reviewed with my new score sooner than later, GW would be a dream.

Just checked the portal. Was never under review.

On hold today. Completed 7/30. Has there been anyone here who was placed on hold and received an II?

Anyone receive a rejection post-interview yet? Or when would those happen?
