Waitlisted. Interviewed 9/1. First interview and was so nervous because this is one of my tops 🙁 now I guess I will just be stressed for monthssss

Its okay buddy. Without that level of stress, you probably would not have made it this far. So thank that stress for pushing you and find solace in knowing that your journey is not over.

Dang... why so many waitlisted? Haven’t gotten an II but makes me worry that even if I do... not high chances. For those of you who are waitlisted, how do you feel your interview went?

I honestly felt like I had a great interview! My faculty interview praised a lot of my answers and I got along great with the student. I guess the interview is just a small part of the whole decision!

My interview was okay. Faculty was hard to read. With a post II acceptance rate of ~25%, it seems normal that there will be 3 waitlists for every acceptance.

i thought it was fine! i was nervous so not my most amazing interview. but I think it went average- above average. i agree that its a small part i think and they just wanna see ur fit, but most of ur application has already spoken for you!

Completed 09/19 and placed on hold today 10/15.

I started a new volunteer position after submitting my primary application. Do you think it's okay to send an update in their portal? In the secondary question about plans for this year, I mention it very briefly by name, without going into detail. Would a paragraph about the activity be an ok update?

could be a good sign man, you never know

I hope. I definitely find it strange though, its been >6 weeks and yet somehow people who interviewed later in the month received responses today. That being said I'm already on edge bc I got a waitlist earlier today (rip Oct 15th)

So for those of us who didn't hear back yesterday, we have to wait another two weeks before potentially hearing back? That feels like an eternity loll

Unfortunately, yea I think so :/ the dean made it clear that she doesn’t want to receive emails about decisions because they already have dates set up to release results

Did they say what the dates were? By any chance

Has anyone on here with a 123 sub score on one section of the mcat granted a interview or acceptance?

thanks!! LM 68.5. Slightly low MCAT, but still around the average and high GPA. However, I think my diverse background/experiences and my secondaries helped me the most in my opinion.
Do you mind telling me your MCAT, you can DM me if that is more comfortable

to those who already interviewed: when should I expect their webex links for the interview? I am interviewing this Thursday

So I was placed on hold on 10/7, after completing on 9/11. I began a full-time job for my application year last week, after having my last one postponed indefinitely due to COVID. I was planning on sending an update letter this Friday after having a full two weeks under my belt in this new position. Any thoughts? Is this too soon? Thanks for any advice.
I think two weeks might be too soon, but this is just what I think. Congrats on the new job tho

" Thank you so much for taking the time to visit The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and interview with us! The Committee on Admissions carefully and judiciously reviews files and as such we humbly appreciate your patience during this process and will be in contact with you once a decision is made."

is this a soft R?

It just sounds like they havent made a decision on your app?

being placed on hold here is a good thing right?
I think the general consensus is that a GW hold is not nearly as bad as holds from other schools, which end up being more like soft R's! If you look through the thread, there are already some people getting II's after being placed on hold earlier.
