I sent in my thank you letters to my interviewers last week the day after my interview, but I never got a response from the admissions office to confirm they got them/would forward them. for anyone else who sent thank you letters after the interview, did you get a confirmation/some sort of response that they got your email???

I sent thank you letters after my interview to the admissions office, but did not get a response or confirmation. I just assumed they would forward them.

I was placed on hold back in September. I have a new position that I didn't get to write about in my primaries (and only briefly on secondaries). My boss wrote me a letter of rec but George Washington's portal says that an update that's a letter of rec needs to be submitted through AMCAS. Has anyone done this yet? Is it going to mess up my complete date for other schools then? I was complete back in July and don't want to go back to the end of the pile.

Oh what. When you add letters for other schools it messes up your complete date?

I’ve heard from some people that adding a new letter of rec resets your complete status and essentially sends you back to the bottom of the pile for SOME schools. I don’t think GW does that though.

Even if we add the letters for a different school? for example, I got UCRs secondary super late (9/8) which is when I added my letters for them. Does that mean even though I completed all my apps in July and early August, my status changed to complete on 9/8?

I think that only applies to the schools that you send letters to. So you sending letters to UCR shouldn’t affect any of your other schools.

Should I send the thank you email (post II) to the professor specifically or to the general admissions email? I never asked for her email personally, but was able to find it easily on the website

You can send it to the admissions email and direct it to the professor or you can mail a hard copy to the admissions office!

So I just began neurotically checking all the portals after SUNY Upstate messed things up :') and I saw this message:

"Your application to The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences is complete and has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee. To date, no final decision has been made and the Admissions Committee has placed your application on hold for re-review at a later date. Files are re-reviewed by the committee periodically and there is no set schedule for decisions. We do interview from August through March. Please feel free to update your file during this time using the GW Admissions Portal. If we require any further documentation or if your status changes, we will contact you immediately. We do sincerely appreciate your interest in our program. Thank you for your patience."

I bolded that specific part, but I'm a little confused? I never got an email from them lol
Sorry if this has been asked already!

Received an II after being on hold for 2 weeks. There is hope. Can anyone who has interviewed at GW give tips/comment on the atmosphere at the interview(s)?
Congrats!!!! I feel like (purely my opinion) the interview at GW is more to check your personality/match/mission fit more than anything. So I am assuming that the majority of decision is made based on our applications and they offer interview to make sure that we are who we described on the applications. So, be yourself! There is no other advice to give haha.

It was relaxed and more of a conversational interview. You really don't need to overprepare. Just make sure that you know the answers to the common questions really well (why medicine, tell me about yourself, etc) and you should be good. Make sure to be yourself!

Did anyone else have an interview scheduling conflict? They had to reschedule mine and I wonder if they sent me an interview invite on accident but wanted to honor their mistake lol

Yes, I recently received an II and they sent another subsequent message rescheduling my interview. I send an email/replied to confirm, yet have not gotten another confirmation as of yet.

For those of you who were on hold/R - If you don't mind sharing - when were you put on hold?

I don't know exactly when I was put on hold. I logged in on 8/27 and saw it, so this is the date I will use. Good Luck.

For people recently rejected, did you get the "under review" status after being put on hold? And did you find out about the R via email or checking the portal?

R this morning as well. I was put on hold 7/24 and even sent an update on 10/19. Hope that didn't speed up the process lol
fwiw I also sent an update/letter of interest on 10/18

I never saw my app go "under review" again, but I only checked it once or twice per week. I got an email early this morning, around 6am EST
