2020-2021 Loma Linda

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They send the email regarding your LLMed student email once you go through the sections under "Admissions Decision" on the left tab in the applicant portal. Information about the student email was sent to me almost instantly as soon as I confirmed my admission. Hope this helps!
Oh seriously? I thought I went through that but I’ll be more thorough through that section since I did accept the non-binding and got nothing. It does help but now I’m worried I deleted it somehow! Lol

For those accepted did a lot of you hear back 2 months after the interview?

For me it was almost 2 but really it was more so following how admissions seems to release once a month on the 2nd Thursday

For those who interviewed:
1) Is the interview day simply the two interviews that they provide through the secondary app page? (no other zoom links to intro/closing ceremonies?)
2) Is the interview more-or-less conversational? And do they have access to both my primary and secondary app?
3) Do you guys ask for emails at the end of interviews to send Thank You emails? (sorry for this Q, first interview so kind of nervous ahahaha)

Use the link on the interview page, it is a link that will take you to zoom (do this maybe 10 minutes ahead of the interview time so that after you click on the link you know it works and will have time to update zoom if it requires it).

My first interviewer was a resident. It wasn't a conversation, but it was kind of conversational because, after a few of my answers, the interviewer would give a short response which I found comforting and made me feel like I didn't bomb. Towards the end, I asked the interviewer a couple of questions. My second interviewer had a law degree, wasn't a physician, was not conversational at all, and gave no feedback or facial expressions at all. Don't stress about it. The interviews (which you already know) are one on one, which I find to be less stressful than panel interviews. Neither interviewer was trying to make me trip up.

Congrats on the interview. Go be yourself.

I felt like my interviews were both super conversational! Both interviewers (one physicians and one M4) had thoroughly read my application and mostly asked me about certain points they found interesting! They both gave me their emails at the end of the interview without me even asking.

My first interview (physician) was very conversational- all of her questions were based on my app, and she answered all of my questions at length. My second interviewer (MS3) asked mostly canned questions but was very engaged. I don't think I normally interview well and I actually felt extremely comfortable in both interviews and even enjoyed them! I mailed thank you cards to the admissions office since I forgot to ask for emails and couldn't find them online.

I asked admissions if they could provide me with the emails of my interviewers and admissions told me to write thank-you letters and upload them to the "documents" section in the portal. You can select "Thank You Letter" for the document type.

I don't think the admissions committee realizes how much I want to go here lol, and the silence regarding my file is making me slip into despair. I'm not feeling too optimistic right now
Just got an interview invite right now!!! Non-SDA Christian!!
Congrats! Good luck with your interview!!! Now if the admissions committee would just realize how much I want to go here LOLOL I guess all I can do is keep hoping and praying at this point!

Is anyone's app status still being reviewed for completion and takes about 3 weeks? I have been complete since 9/22 but I am applying MD/PHD. I was also emailing the committee and they transfered my letters of rec from AMCAS onto the PHD app so I am pretty sure they have my app. It is just really confusing to see.

Hello. I received an email that my portal status had been updated and was thrilled to see an acceptance. Yet, I missed the phone call as I was at a meeting- does this matter at all?

Congrats!! No the phone call just seems to be a nice formality that Loma Linda does with their acceptances. I could barely talk on mine cause of the excitement, so I guess at least you didn’t look dumb like me lol

Thank you so much for the reply. Congratulations to you as well 🙂

Given that the committee usually meets the second Thursday of each month, if my interview is 1/28 should I expect to hear back on 2/11?

Just curious if anyone on here is a re-applicant and what it is like to apply to Loma Linda as a re-applicant

I'd say be prepared to talk about what you did in the time between re-applying and what's different about you now compared to the last cycle.

Has anyone had any luck emailing admissions with some kind of letter of intent? I interviewed back in early December and haven't heard back yet. I'm waiting for Feb 11 because I might hear back that day, but if I don't I think I should send something.

It took me a couple of weeks to receive the email for student portal.

Hey! I heard there may be an official class of 2025 facebook page but am not sure where I would find this. I have delayed setting up my student account and had to email help desk, but hopefully I will have it set up soon. Is there a way to connect with incoming students in the portal? I am wondering about housing and how I may connect with potential roommates! I was accepted 12/10 and confirmed my attendance two weeks later. I received the email for my student account on 1/13 and am just now trying to set it up. Hope I am not behind on meeting everyone! Congrats everyone who has been accepted!

I emailed admissions 3 weeks ago and have not received a reply. I just wanted to confirm my application was complete and in final review because on my interview day my interviewers no-showed and they had to get new interviewers and I never received any information from admissions following the interview. I also interviewed in early December.
