I interviewed 9/24 for the Maine Track... anyone hear back yet/know when they’re supposed to be calling? I’m getting nervous butterflies.

Interviewed on 9/28 still haven't heard back anything. I just wanna know whether good or bad!
The impression I got from interview day was that all decisions, good or bad, would go out today at the latest. My guess is that they’re going to send out all the emails after they’re done with acceptance calls.

I know a bunch of people are getting A's but does anyone know where they're at with II's?
It seems like they are still slowly reviewing applications. The last reported II had a complete date of 8/10. I'm guessing they are in the process of reviewing their next batch of 1000 applications!

What is deferred? Is that like a waitlist?
It means they will review your app again with other applicants in their next meeting. Not necessarily a waitlist as I believe people come off waitlists as people withdraw their A's. That's not the case for those who are deferred.

Does anyone have any stats or wild guesses about deferrals turning into As at Tufts? Asking for a friend

No it's not! I think you have until april to narrow it down to 2 and then final decision is in May I believe.

Got it, thank you so much! That's what I had originally thought but I got a bit confused after the "we'll see you at orientation!" email LOL. That was probably just a formality

All of the 8/10ish people getting IIs now gives me hope since I was complete end of August and haven't heard anything.

I'm interviewing tomorrow and today I received invitations to zoom sessions for the MD/MPH, MD/MBA, URM open house and LGBTQ open house. I'm guessing that these sessions are optional and won't have an effect on my admissions decision? I'm not really interested in combined degrees and I'm unsure about attending the other sessions.

I'm not going to them. I don't imagine they will hold it against you! See you tomorrow aha

They are optional. I didn't go to any and I got in 🙂

MSTP (MD/PhD) II last night (C:8/2)! Looks like they aren't starting MD/PhD interviews till November, any other MSTP people here? Wondering how many of you have also heard from the normal MD program...they said to let them know if you get an MD-only interview too so they can coordinate, but haven't heard anything from them

Hi All, I interviewed 10/9 for Maine track. I sent thank you letters to the email they gave us at the end of the interview on 10/12 and asked to be put in the group for MD/MPH open house. I haven't received an email back or an invite to the MD/MPH open house. Has anyone received confirmation of the thank you letters or a post II open house invite?

Interviewers aren't required to email you back after you sent your thank you letters (although I'd assume that'd be courtesy), and everyone gets the post II open house invite. At least in my interview session, they clarified that everyone will be getting it for MD/MPH and MD/MBA.

I sent my thank you letters to the office of admissions and I got a confirmation from the office, but not from the interviewers themselves.

I don't remember hearing anything about an MD/MPH or MD/MBA open house on my interview day and there's no mention of it in any of the emails I got from Tufts. Did I miss something? Has anyone been to one of these sessions?

Thank you for your response! I definitely wasn't expecting a thank you from each of the interviewers. To be honest, I'm just a little bit worried that my ' thank you' email got lost and it will reflect negatively on my application...

How long after your interview did you get the open house invite? My interview was roughly 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received it.

I received an II for Maine track on 10/12, that app was complete 8/30. My regular Boston app was complete 8/7 and I haven't received an II, R or deferment yet. The website said that applicants are considered for both tracks independently and can be interviewed for both tracks. Is it weird (or troubling) that my Maine app was completed so much later but I've heard back already, and I've heard nothing about the regular Boston track?

I would assume the Maine track has a much smaller pool so makes sense they would get to you quicker even though you were completed later.

I am in the same situation as you with similar dates. Tufts can send IIs for both tracks, but they have a huge applicant pool for the Boston track and a much smaller one for Maine so I'm not surprised about hearing from Maine first. It's also about fit. The clinical training experience for each track is unique, so while some people may get IIs to both, some people's apps may read better for one track versus the other.

Is Tufts known for being generous with financial aid/scholarships? I'm trying to decide if I should submit my secondary.
