Is Tufts known for being generous with financial aid/scholarships? I'm trying to decide if I should submit my secondary.
They only given need based Aid. They say anywhere from 25-75% depending on need. No merit based.

If I was deferred after the interview, would it be worth it to send a letter of interest? Or is it too early to do that?

Based on my own anecdotal experience it's not much help. Doubt it can hurt though. I have a strong feeling deferral=kiss of death here. Genuinely sorry, I went through the exact same thing. Hope you're luckier than I was.

Is everyone sending thank you notes? I haven't been sending them to schools, but Tufts did specifically mention them (they would be added to your file). I interviewed last week and I'm wondering if I should send one?

Would like to know this too, help us plsss. Does the thank you note affect decisions? The ones I have sent are all short and sweet, but I’m not sure if this one should be different because of what they mentioned on interview day...

I don’t think they affect admissions decisions at all.
Schools accept you based on your application, LORs, and interview feedback. Not how grateful you were or if you sent a thank you email.

Personally, I haven’t sent any but I have made sure to thank my interviewer at the end of each interview.

Hi all, I interviewed for the Maine track but haven't been invited to the MD/MPH info session. Do you think it would be worth it to call them?

Given that last time a wave of IIs were sent (10/15ish), the dates to book IIs was 1/27, it is safe to assume as an early applicant that we've been soft R-ed?

Looking at past data, there was a wave of R's on 9/26 so either they're delayed or wanna just keep the hope alive for us in midst of COVID. They also rejected people on 10/31 so there's also that going for us this year and then a bit of R's around Dec and a large February wave of R's.

Also there was a lull between October and December for IIs in 2019 andin 2018 (for 2018 this was not checked but mentioned on 2019 thread, post 629) so I suspect something similar is going on this year (what for, if anyone else can speak towards it would love to hear it). That being said, it slows down significantly after since obviously fewer spots to II for. But people have II-ed in February for an A (ie they don't II for waitlist).

Guess we just gotta Tuft it out and wait y'all, but at this point it's not looking good(sorry had to after seeing it on last year's thread).

Not sure about Tufts, but I know some schools are increasing the number of interview invites now that it's all virtual, so I don't think you need to panic quite yet. Case Western is increasing interviews by 50% (tho not acceptances).

CWRU is increasing interviews by 50%? Where'd you hear this?

Sman mentioned interviewing more candidates on the case thread (sadly no merit aid this year will be awarded there either 🙁 _

I just looked through the Case thread and there's no mention of an increase of 50% II's...Are you sure you're not mixing it up with the discussion some posters had on the post II acceptance rate?

I am skeptical Case would go from interviewing ~1K candidates to ~1.5K simply because interviews are virtual. I am also doubtful that Tufts will be increasing their interview capacity given that they are a low yield school and are already scheduling into next year.

Sorry I should've been more specific. They are increasing interviews for their MSTP program by 50% (which is what I care about), I couldn't remember if it was for MSTP or the University program. My bad, this is clearly stated on the CWRU website, and it is because of virtual interviewing (quicker and cheaper process).

And not saying Tufts will increase their interview capacity, just saying that some schools are.

I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly, did they say next decisions come out first or second week of November?

According to last year's thread, the first round of acceptances should be handed out this Monday. Tufts also said that decisions come out within the first week of November!
The first round of acceptances came out on October 15/16 for those that interviewed in September.

Congratulations on everyone’s acceptances! I got the call on Monday and was over the moon.

I was curious if any one has been able to find a detailed match list from 2020? I know they have one on the website which only detailed speciality but not the names of institutions

can anyone tell me how the interview day was? i see its from 10-5 and what should I be expecting for my interview?
