anyone know the process for financial aid other than submitting fafsa? Is there another separate application or forms we have to send in?
Not at all. First time I applied to UW I was rejected in September and I was able to meet with them for feedback in October.do people think it's too early to ask for feedback post-rejection?
thank you!Not at all. First time I applied to UW I was rejected in September and I was able to meet with them for feedback in October.
It just needs to be completed by the week prior to your interview so they (UW) have it on file ready to review after your interview. I called the admissions office to ask exactly this since my work schedule is packed from late Nov-mid Dec. Feel free to give them a call to ask the same, they’re super nice.I know UW says that you have to complete VITA prior to your interview but do we need to still follow aamcs recommended 2 week turn around? If anyone could let me know that’d be great!
For MSTP, did you get a VITA invite before the virtual interview invite? Does getting VITA invite mean you will be offered a "real" II?Not sure about MD only but they told MSTP that we should hear by Mid to late December if they can time our results with the MD only pool.
I got a VITA request before the real II. I did it within 2(ish) weeks and then got a “real” II 2ish weeks after completing it!For MSTP, did you get a VITA invite before the virtual interview invite? Does getting VITA invite mean you will be offered a "real" II?
The portal updated a few weeks before the interview for me! Then there was a tab with more info on the interview day & a page for the photoInterview email says to upload a headshot on the photo tab of the student portal but I don't see one.. am I just missing it or does it appear when the interview information updates in the portal?
+1 II! IS, LM ~69. Complete late August. Interview date is early Feb.Just got an II! Instate, 511 mcat, 1st gen.
Congrats! What was your complete date?Just got an II! Instate, 511 mcat, 1st gen.
09/30Congrats! What was your complete date?
Congrats on the II! I received one last week, similar stats. I'm unsure of when I want to do VITA as well, but I think I will wait until the beginning of January.II last week! LM 64, URM, OOS complete 9/19. Hopefully interviewing on January 28th!
It’s telling me to Do the VITA ASAP... but I want to take a couple weeks to prepare (albeit idk much of how to prepare).
Bro I just emailed the VITA services, and they told me this;Congrats on the II! I received one last week, similar stats. I'm unsure of when I want to do VITA as well, but I think I will wait until the beginning of January.
I think expiration applies for interviews with deadlines. UW’s VITA invitation and AAMC’s VITA invitation offer no such deadline. Guidance from HireVue here: Interview DeadlineBro I just emailed the VITA services, and they told me this;
"We recommend completing the VITA interview as soon as possible, as you only have 2 weeks from the date it was sent to complete it. If for some reason it is not completed within that time frame a new invitation may not be sent. Please let us know if you have any additional inquiries."
*Whew* glad I asked this question. I would have went nuts because I was thinking the same as you.

I'm confused as well. FOR SURE, there is no UW deadline for VITA? Dear god I hope not because I am not ready to take it in the next couple days.Wait im so confused so when do we need to do it by?
This is such a mess, I'll post my screen shots from VITA support below, which I hope clarifies confusion for us all.I'm confused as well. FOR SURE, there is no UW deadline for VITA? Dear god I hope not because I am not ready to take it in the next couple days.
Image upload wasn't working but here's the text:
Greetings [Me],
Attached is the information from the FAQ's available on the website. It is not a hard deadline, but we highly recommend completion ASAP.
What is the deadline to complete my interview?
The AAMC VITA interview will be open Aug. 6, 2020, (anticipated) through April 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. ET. While you will be able to complete the AAMC VITA interview anytime during this window, the AAMC recommends you complete the interview within two weeks of receiving the initial invitation from HireVue. Additionally, a school may indicate a deadline — please refer to school-specific information regarding deadlines and consequences for missing those deadlines.
If we can be of additional assistance regarding VITA, please let us know.

I got my vita invite oct 29 and did not complete it until nov 30 for my interview tomorrow.So, just to summarize, it is recommended to do it within the 2 weeks after getting the invite, but there is no real deadline?
Correct. I have no idea why the AAMC pushes this 2 week deadline narrative and why it takes so much probing to get them to admit it’s not a hard deadline.So, just to summarize, it is recommended to do it within the 2 weeks after getting the invite, but there is no real deadline?
Also in state, 509 MCAT. Accepted elsewhere but still stings also! Can’t win them all I guessPre II R just now. Complete 9/27, IS, URM, alma mater, 509. Stings as this was my obvious top choice. Best of luck to you all this cycle!
Same situation and I’m completely devastated. Interviewed two years ago and was told by UW admissions the only thing holding me back was lack of clinical hours. Well 2000+ hours of meaningful clinical employment later and they don’t even interview me this time, I feel heartbrokenJust got the R, IS, alumni, non-trad reapplicant. Got the interview hold email about a month or two ago. Wasn't too optimistic, but was still holding out hope. This one definitely stings a bit.
Rejection is redirection. I know it's very hard for you, but know that you will be where you're meant to be.Same situation and I’m completely devastated. Thanks! This is super helpful! This thread had me breaking out in cold sweats because I just passed the two-week mark but had been planning to do the VITA in January so I panicking a bit that I missed the window.A lot of people really clarified this well, but since I brought the doubt I just wanted to make it certain.
This is the update email after I questioned their prior email;
"My apologies as I was misinformed, you are highly recommended to complete it within 2 weeks, and we recommend more than that ASAP. Please note that if you complete it close to your actual interview date, and the medical school is requesting it before their live interview, there is an unknown processing time for our VITA/HireVUE team to process the interview once you have completed it before it is going to be sent to schools."
And here is the email from UW-Madison;
"Thanks for checking in! On our end, we do not have a two-week deadline. You may take it at any time you feel ready leading up to your interview. We just ask that you have it done at least by the Friday of your interview week. That way your application will not be held back for final review. On the AAMC side, I do not know if there is a two-week deadline. I believe the test is available until the end of April. For specific clarifications, you may want to reach out to AAMC or HireVue. Sorry I couldn't be more help!"
Hope this was helpful for the confusion for you guys as well.
