Does UMass traditionally take a long time to release post-II decisions for in-state applicants? There've been remarkably few IS acceptances, and I see people interviewed back in Aug/Sep still stuck with the AC loop. Most other schools seem to get a decision back in a month or so. Is this something about being a state school where they have different set of considerations?
IT'S KILLING ME! Unfortunately, I think that the few IS acceptances may just be reporter bias. I am hoping I am wrong though! Someone give me some hopium

I was told by students at UMASS this is normal for recent years. Also with their massive recent funding by donation we may see less IS A's overall than previous years as they no longer need as much $ from the state.

Hopefully some IS A's start coming out before xmas

You have that backwards: UMass recently increased its class size to be able to take in more OSS who pay full tuition (and rumor has it that they will do this again). They won't reduce the number of IS acceptances.

I think they did a really good job at making you feel comfortable for your interview, especially if it's your first MMI (like it was for me). They emphasize being true to yourself and having fun along the way.

Has anyone attended the Q&A Session? If so, how was the experience? how many students were there?

A this morning!! IS, ORM, average stats, unique EC’s. Interview early November, LOI sent two weeks ago.

Soooo if I'm still on the active consideration list from mid-September, I should probably take the L at this point, huh?

How does one apply to Urban Health Scholars? This is separate from PURCH right?

Does UMass like students from their undergrad? Has anyone got an interview or A from there?

Any current med student able to speak on the timeline?

Yes, it is separate from the PURCH. Information regarding how to apply to Urban Health Scholars, Rural Health Scholars, Global Health Pathway, and Clinical and Translational Research Pathway is sent out during the first weeks/months after school starts. These 4 areas are more like interest groups with added responsibilities. You will learn more about them during the second look day and orientations.

Unsure about the timeline, but UMass historically has accepted a lot of people from their undergrad. I am guessing that this is more about a lot of UMass undergrads applying to UMass Med, rather than the school having a preference for their undergrads.

n=1 a few of friends went to umass and got accepted a week after they got AC. I’m IS and higher stats but went to Williams not umass and didn’t get anything back despite being AC for over 2 months . So maybe they do have a preference?

Do they send pre-II R’s to OOS applicants? Or just wait till all interviews are done w silence
