For those of you who got the call was at your cell or at home and do they leave a message if you are not in?

what happens if you miss it?

No waitlist, I interviewed mid-Feb.
3.3 undergrad GPA (3.1 math/science)
~3.5 master's program GPA (NYMC's SMP-it'll be done next month)
36R MCAT 13P 13B 10V
After my interview I sent thank-you notes to my interviewers and a letter to the admissions office detailing why I loved Stony Brook and thought it was the place for me.
I was rejected without an interview last year.

I got the call on my cell phone. I don't know for sure but I'm confident they would leave a message and tell you to call them back ASAP if you don't pick up.
 
Tough decision, but I withdrew when I got into Downstate. Good luck everyone!
 
Those of you who email a letter to the dean or anyone else do they reply back or acknwldge ur email?

Any movemnt from the waiting list?

I was on a plane to Australia and missed the call. It was the associate dean of admissions. I called tried calling him back but due to the time difference I had to play a bit of phone tag before we communicated. He was still very polite and told me of my acceptance.

for those of you who emailed the dean or the school did you get an acknowledgement that they received ur email?😕

I would love to receive a call for him

to those who got in, did you get in from the wait list? or were not on the wait list at all?

I got no acknowledgment whenever I sent application updates (new grades etc.), but whenever I ask them a question they respond right away.
 
I am almost at the brink of loooooooosing hope I mean they should at least tell us where we are or something

even black holes are less myster:meanie:ious!!!!
 
I got this email when I asked.........

We always anticipate movement of the wait list, however, this varies from year to year. At this time I couldn't say how much movement we will have as that is dependent on how many people decline.

I wonder if wait list movement started or not....
 
hi....did anyone hear from the waitlist yet?
 
in an email i received yesterday nancy acevedo said the wait list was already moving....so yeah.

Actually, the first day of classes is Monday, August 31st. First-year orientation begins a week earlier on August 24th. It's available on the student calendar on Stony Brook's website.

does any one know if you r accepted off of waitlist, do they call, email or snail mail a letter?
 
Hi. I think at this point they call you if they want to offer an acceptance. Waitlist still through email and rejection through snail mail. Was waitlisted, withdrew today. Good luck !

Hey! They call you first before sending you anything. Got the call on Tuesday!
 
Congrats! What day did you get the call? I've been on waitlist since Oct so this is torture! At least it looks like movement is picking up though

it was wednesday

and the next day i was hit by high fever 101 and cough:laugh: what a rude awakening in the morning

still recovering though🙄

GOOD Luck write those letters to the dean

it is one of my top school I LOVE it😍 I never thought I would hear anything to be honest it is a very prestigious school

Yes, I got in a handful of other schools. I withdrew my application once I got into my second choice school, but Stony Brook is definately my top choice. I had sent letters of intent and an additional rec letter. Maybe this week...

I don't mean to pry but for those that gained acceptance from the wait list, what were your stats? I know the decisions are based on much more than academics, but at least its a starting block to see if I should keep hoping or not. Thanks everybody!
 
Have anyone started a facebook group for the class of 2013? Maybe it'll help everyone to get to know each other better.
