Does anyone know when SLU stops interviewing?

Thanks.

Last year I interviewed in January and I think they had more interviews into February at least. I was invited for an interview on 11/23 for this app cycle, but I think I am going to turn it down at this point.

I got an invite today... but I'm thinking I will decline as well.

Would it be crazy to e-mail them and say something like "Thank you for the opportunity to interview at SLU, however I respectfully decline your invitation. I hope my interview spot can go to another worthy and deserving applicant. Specifically, I have a colleague who has applied, (INSERT NAME) and I believe that you would do well to offer him an interview..."

I would take that part out. It sounds kind of not right, you know?

So anyone heard some news post-interview recently?

I saw the girl who I interviewed with on Nov 10th with. Neither of us heard anything.
They did tell us 3-5 weeks though

But you withdrew, so of course you're not hearing anything!

i haven't heard anything. my interviewer said 8-10 weeks, though, so i'll be waiting for a while.

That can't be right. They told us about 3 weeks at the interview day though.

😕 oh... well, i'm not so sure now. maybe my interviewer was misinformed or maybe it just depends on who you interviewed with? my person hadn't read my LORs and it seemed as though they hadn't really reviewed the rest of my app either so it might just take longer for me haha.

You're right, it could depend on your interviewer. It seems the timing of the decision depends on when your interviewer decides to turn his/her form in.

So I haven't heard from them in ~3 months

Call? I can update them on a few things, so maybe an update letter? I'm really interested in SLU, or should I assume silent rejection?

Is this pre- or post-interview? If it's post-, you should definitely call to see what's up. If it's pre-, I don't know then. You should still probably contact them to see what your status is.

Still have yet to hear anything, but I think they will be on schedule with the 3-4 weeks notice.

It took me over four months to get an interview invite, so don't feel discouraged. I would suggest you send them an email and ask about the status of your application. I did that, and sure enough two weeks later I had an interview invite. I'm not sure if those two things were related at all.

Last year I interviewed at SLU. I applied early, and didn't interview until January. You might try sending an update, or even just a letter of interest. That's what I did last year, and within an hour I had an interview invite.

Hopefully before Christmas break. I don't know how the holidays will affect our timing.

Interview invite today. Application complete mid-july, Interview: 12/21

The week before Christmas will put me at 4 weeks post- interview..I really tried not to get my hopes up about hearing back before Christmas/New Years but I went ahead and did it anyway.....perfect situation to have my hopes and dreams dominated...

I think you will hear before the holidays. On the other hand for me...

That sounds like a good idea, I'm just going to have to word it properly, I dont want them to think I don't know about the online status check (is that thing up-to-date?)

Yea, I just sent them an update. Thanks guys for the responses, you have given a fellow applicant a ray of hope, lol

I don't think that status site is up to date.

Anyways good luck.

Any hope of the next round of acceptances coming out before Christmas..?

I hope they stick to the timeline for you! Just got my acceptance...10 weeks later. Better late than never?!?!?

Hi guys I have an interview tomorrow. Any advice?
I submitted my app like the last week of August and got an invite on second week of nov.

Wow, congratulations! Well, I am not sure they will, but it was just a call based on other people from this thread that have received a rapid decision.

Congrats. Darn, 10 weeks is a long time.🙁

Just look at the Interview Feedback page. They have advice and things there.

Hey all. I was accepted to SLU a few days ago, but will be withdrawing in the coming few days because I also got into my top choice. Anyways, I hope that my spot makes someone else's day in the near future!

Hey congrats, when did you interview and when did you hear back?

Mid October (I forget the exact date) and I was accepted on Thurs.

Wow seems like they're really not sticking to the 3-4 week estimate of hearing back after the interview. Was hoping to have news before Christmas, but guess that might not happen. (I'm on 4 weeks and counting)

Ah crap. Okay, then I'm going to give up on my hopes for before-holiday decision. Dang, it would have been nice to know what my status would be before going on holiday break.

Hey everyone,

I'm a current student @ SLU-SOM. I'd be happy to answer any questions about the school, process, interview, transportation, etc. etc. I have friends who were interviewed in April and accepted, so don't lose hope on that front. (Now is way too early to be concerned about lack of an interview invite.)

Yeah I interviewed mid-November and as soon as the 4 week mark hit yesterday I started incessantly checking my email. Was really hoping for pre-winter break news too. 🙁

Thanks tartrate and blue! I think my wait time is longer than average. Some people heard back within the 3-4 weeks. :xf: for you both!

10 weeks is a long time and I recieved an acceptance from a state school in the meantime. Will be withdrawing from SLU...I hope someone can have my spot! p.s. just figured out how to multiquote in one post.

It seems decisions usually go out Thursdays. Anyone heard anything back yet?

Got an interview invite here yesterday, but will probably withdraw...was complete sometime in Oct.

Best of luck to everyone!

Just got accepted here 🙂 Best birthday present ever.

interviewed the 24th of nov...haven't heard anything....god i hope i dont have to wait another month..

I think they're sticking to the 4 week schedule, since hubins interviewed on 11/16 and was accepted today on 12/17.

That means you might hear next week, but then it's the holidays so I'm not sure how that will factor in. Something tells me we're going to have to wait until after new year.

Do they only have 1 committee meeting a month? It would make sense that mid and late november interviews would be lumped together because I think this is the first of the mid november interviewees that are hearing back.

Either way yea...i was hoping for something from slu before the new years...but maybe we'll be able to start next year off on the right foot :xf:
