Either way yea...i was hoping for something from slu before the new years...but maybe we'll be able to start next year off on the right foot :laugh::xf:

I think my interviewer said they meet every week or something. I may be wrong. But yeah, hopefully good news for both of us soon.

Do they reject outright or is SLU silent rejection? I've given up here but would like a rejection letter. Complete early Sept. I know there's the fluke people who got interviews after months but I don't think my stats are competititve here.

The two above people heard after 4 weeks. I have a feeling ours won't be until next week, maybe even later because of the holidays. And they release decisions on Thursdays, it seems, not Mondays.

I don't know, I was complete really early and thought I was rejected. But they gave me an invite months later out of the blue. I think it's possible, so don't lose all hope.

I actually sent them an email inquiring about my status and received an interview invite about a week later. Definitely could be a coincidence, but I was also complete for like three months before hearing back. Stay strong!
 
Well I sent an update and got this today:

Thank you for the update. It has been added to your file for consideration by the committee. Your application is under review by the committee. Once any decision has been made, you will be notified by email.

At least they told me I'm under review. They didn't tell me that with the last update I sent.

This is reassuring to hear. I was complete at the end of September and still haven't heard anything from SLU. I'm crossing my fingers! Does anyone know how behind they are or if there is a certain day of the week that they normally send out invites?

(OOS, 4.0GPA, 31R MCAT)

I got my invite on Monday. In November, they had a bunch of interview dates open on December, but I saw nothing in January and beyond.
 
received interview invite today. secondary complete 9/19.

OOS, 3.6, 33q
 
Then...maybe Thursday? :xf:

If not...then yeah, looks like there will be no news until after the holidays.
 
as much as i would like to get something from slu the day before christmas....im not keeping my hopes up for that one.

Yeah I didn't get anything today... What do you mean though? There weren't any dates open after January for YOU to choose from or for anyone to choose from, period?? If the second is true you'd think they would just send out rejections to everyone else left that they haven't invited? I feel like they should at least give me a second look.... ugh. soooo disheartening!!!

Yeah, I think it will be after the holidays in the new year. Totally blows, but I guess whatever.

They gave us a bunch of dates to choose from, and I saw there were dates available in December. But I saw nothing in January. Maybe they haven't started inviting people yet for January and beyond? Maybe they will do so after the new year? Good luck.

I know when I got my interview invitation back on 11/23 there were dates open in January. I'm interviewing on 1/5.

Oh I see, maybe they cut me off from January ones for whatever reason. Well, good luck to you.
 
I got waitlisted here a week ago and I have two questions. Will they tell me my current position on the list, and how far down the list do they typically go when filling the class?

You can try calling them, they seem pretty friendly over the phone. Also, do you mind sharing when you interviewed and when they let you know you were waitlisted?
 
Anyone interview with Duane here? Think I did bad on the interview, but the students seemed really interesting. Talked to this one MS2 about glioblastoma multiforme for about thirty minutes, she's doing some paper at a Neurosugery conference and so we talked a little bit about her work.

I interviewed in mid November and heard back four weeks later. I'll try calling later today to see what I can find out.
 
I recently got an invite here (last week I think). I'm gonna do the regional interview in SF in January. Only negative is that I don't get to tour the school or talk to current students. But it saves me a LOT of money. Hopefully I get a feel of the rest of the school from other's interview feedback posts.

That regional interview thing sounds awesome. I wish they had offered it earlier, it would have saved me tons of money. Good luck.

so for sure the admissions office is closed/and or the committee won't meet this week? i mean, they were open and interviewing the week of thanksgiving.

I think the committee isn't meeting this week, they said something about the holidays. You can call the admissions office to see if they are open or not.

It's been way more than 3-4 weeks... Hoping to hear back ASAP... glad the holidays are over because haven't heard from schools in a while... what a depressing thought... I'm pathetic

Dude, what the hell. You've already been accepted to two schools already, count your blessings. I've yet to get accepted to even one. Pathetic would be me.

Hey man, at least you have that one from FIU, sort of. I'm still wallowing in self-pity with FIU's final-pool and hoping this upcoming Buffalo interview does better...

I haven't received an interview invite and I'm wondering why...Is there hope?

So I received a cryptic yet rather depressing e-mail today, that I was put on as a"member of the alternate list of students applying to enter," which I am assuming is the waitlist. Sigh...this was my first interview too.
 
ACCEPTED!!! Yay! I really liked this school a lot.

I interviewed Dec. 14th, and I am OOS with 3.8 & 35.

Oh, I would also like to point out that I wait OVER four months for my interview invite after submitting my secondary in early July, so for those of you who have been waiting forever, don't lose hope.

Hey everyone. I have an interview at SLU the 11th. Anyone else have one on that day? I interviewed there last year, got on the wait list. I really liked the place, very friendly people.

OOS, 34N, 3.74 GPA

I wouldn't take it as bad news. I know one of the people on my exact same interview day at Iowa who had the exact same interviewers as me was accepted there TWO WEEKS before me. I thought I was done for when he got the acceptance, but then sure enough I got one there too. So don't lose hope on SLU just yet! This process is just screwy.
