I interviewed ~9/20 and I was told that they were shooting for October 15th notifications for our group. So I'd guess we'll starting hearing back either tomorrow or some time next week.

I interviewed on 9/27 and was told to wait 4-6 weeks to hear back.

Just got an invite today! Was complete like july 10th-ish so anyone who's been complete a while and not heard back, do not worry!

everyone should hear back soon. I guess im the first...

"The Committee has voted and selected you as a member of the alternate list of students applying to enter in August 2011. The Committee wishes to emphasize that you were chosen as an alternate over numerous able competitors."

I got this yesterday (10/14)

Submitted 8/5, invited around 8/26, interviewed 10/5 for those that are wondering.

Oh well... Ill have to work better in my next two interviews.

How did you find out? email?

I called and asked Emily if they will be sending out decisions today. She specifically asked whether I mean acceptances. And I said yes ofcourse. She said their first day to disclose acceptances is tomorrow, and that she is going to be in her office tomorrow. I suppose that was an indirect way of saying she'll send'em out tomorrow! My heart beat raises a little with every new email notification on outlook! I interviewed on sep 20th, hoping to hear good news 🙂 Good luck to all!

I got mine like 15 min after the first person who posted, so maybe they're going alphabetically or in order of interview date.

"Dear Mr. [-----],

It is a pleasure for me to inform you, on behalf of the Admissions Committee, that you have been accepted as a member of the class that will enter Saint Louis University School of Medicine in August 2011.

[...]

If any questions should arise concerning your matriculation, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to a close association with you during the next four years while you begin your lifetime study of medicine.

Sincerely yours,

L. James Willmore, M.D.
Associate Dean"

😀 This is definitely a relief ... it's nice knowing I have at least have one school I can fall back upon in case the others don't work out. BEST OF LUCK to everyone else!! I am currently finishing my last year of undergrad at WashU, so feel free to ask me questions about living / studying in St. Louis or the SLU interview process or whatever.

AMCAS submitted: 7/27
AMCAS verified: 8/20
Letters received: 9/1
Interview invite: 9/9
Interview day: 9/27 (SLU was very flexible about scheduling!)
Stats: 3.87, 38S (tested in April)

:luck:!

Congrats everyone who got acceptances!!!! I am so relieved too, and happy. Enjoy your weekend! 🙂

Accepted this morning. Really did not know how the interview went . . kinda thought I bombed it, haha. Guess I was being too hard on myself. Congrats to all those who have been accepted!

Accepted!!!! This application process has been so harrowing. It is so nice to know that no matter what happens, at least I now actually have the possibility of becoming a doctor!

Yay SLU!

AMCAS submitted: 6/20
SLU secondary submitted: 7/21
Interview Invite: 8/14
Interviewed: 9/12

Best of luck to everyone else!

Congrats to everyone with acceptances this morning! I hope to see you all next year!

Congrats to everyone with acceptances! I also received that email Saturday morning... definitely a great moment. 🙂 Quick question regarding the Code of Professional Conduct document they sent in the email. Do we just fill out the form and send it in with our money, or do we need to physically write a letter affirming that statement?

Good luck to everyone! 👍

Did anyone else who interviewed in late september not receive a decision on saturday? I interviewed on the 21st and haven't heard a peep.

I'm interviewing here soon and I have a very research-intensive background. It seems like a general consensus that SLU is not very research focused so I'm wondering if this may have some weight when it comes to acceptance/rejection. Anyone want to weigh in on this?

Even though SLU isn't a research powerhouse, we still have a substantial amount of research being done and papers being published. While "poor fit" (which, in my opinion, is more a personality and future goal type of thing) might be an issue, having a lot of research experience should only help you. Lots of us did substantial amounts of research prior to med school, and several of my classmates have masters or phds.

Also, about the code of conduct (as long as it's just like last year's), you can just sign it and send it in with the deposit.

+1 I interviewed on the 21st and I also didn't hear anything. Maybe we'll be in the next batch of decisions??

Accepted 10/16 as well!

OOS, interviewed early sept
36P, 3.8 BCPM, 3.5 overall (engineering major = GPA killer)

Absolutely ecstatic - SLU is among my top choices! Hopefully I'll be seeing some fellow SDNers next fall, and good luck to those still waiting!

Hey does anyone know how to take the metrolink from the airport to the admissions office?

Congratulations to everyone that got accepted!

I had to push my interview date back to 11/22 due to financial reasons. Hope that doesn't put me at a huge disadvantage.

Just take the metrolink from the airport to the Grand station stop. It's really easy to do (and this comes from one who is terrified of public transportation). However, this will get you down the street from the med school (and it's quite a walk, especially if you're in a suit). The med school has a shuttle that will pick you up from the metro (though make sure you tell the shuttle driver you are trying to get to Schwitalla Hall/the Caroline building/anywhere near the nursing/med school), but I don't remember the number for it (I'm sure admissions would be happy to tell you if you call or shoot them an e-mail). Make sure you do not plan on taking the metro once it starts to get dark out though. You do not want to be alone at the Grand stop at night (and probably not on the metro at all in the evening). Also, if you ride the Metrolink from Grand back to the airport, make sure you get on the red line (only the red runs to the airport... the two lines both run to the Grand stop though).

Even though it's always better to interview early, it won't hurt your chances substantially. I had a 30R, 3.9, interviewed in mid-January, and was accepted around March. I went to tour in late March or early April since I hadn't seen the school yet, and at least a couple people from the interview group I toured with ended up being accepted. So, don't stress over the timing or lose hope.

man i've been complete here since mid july and havent heard a single thing. should I give them a call???

Have you done any (non-medical) community service?

Yea i have a good amount I think.
but it looks like lots of others r in the same boat as me so i guess its not that strange of a situation.
either way...hurry the F*k up slu 🙂

Weird. Any connection to Missouri or the general area? Did you write anything for the optional essay?
Trying to see if there's any pattern....probably not though.

Has anyone else that interviewed on Sep 21 heard back yet?

me five, and yes I've done lots...not sure why that matters though...

haha, me six!

and I have loots of non-medical community service. my stats are lower than avg for this school though. not terribly optimistic, but not discounting it completely til I'm rejected 😉

Congratulations on your WSU acceptance! I'm applying there too but am OOS and haven't heard anything🙁 Are you not planning on attending WSU if you get in somewhere else?
