Does anyone know approximately many weeks it takes to hear back after the interview?

They said on my interview day that they meet once a month and then everyone is notified (accept, reject, continue to review) after that time by email.

The last group to hear anything was interviewed on Sept. 28th.

Just got pooled!

Complete 9/7
Entered primary screening 10/6

We all were complete, entered screening, and pooled on almost the same days. I guess there is a method to their madness!

Edit: Anyone got any info on how being pooled so late will affect us?

Does anyone know what % of "pooled" applicants receive interviews? Or am I hopeless in looking for this stat?

Just wondering since I've been complete since early September and JUST got pooled... I know it's a longshot!

hmmm well I entered screening 10/6 too. So hopefully get an email any day now finding out if I got an interview or got pooled for now

Good luck y'all😳

i have a question:
people who are getting interviews, how long was your "life in discovery" essay

"briefly" is a vague term...just trying to get an idea of what they are looking for

What a slow pre-interview process. And it's not even over yet!

I entered screening on 10/6 and haven't been pooled yet either! 😕 Im hoping we hear some good news soon!

So I've been in the pool of applicants that MIGHT get an interview since early August, and still haven't gotten an interview invite or rejection. To those of you familiar with RFUMS selection procedure, what is their procedure? Do they small pool everyone? Is the small pool similar to a waiting list?

So my application was complete 10/24, will that be looked upon negatively? I've been really sick for the past three months, so everything took forever to get done. I'm not sure if it would help here, but my mother attended CMS 1988-1992, anyone know how they view children of alumni?

I think someone did the number crunching last year and got a 60-70 % chance of interview after small-pool, with the rest being rejected obviously.

Legacy is always good. Definitely mention it to your interviewer. They'll make a note.

Hope you're feeling better! :luck:

That percentage seems a bit high... Who knows though! Hopefully there are a few spots left still, I bet the class is half-filled at this stage of the game.

+1, I've been in the same situation since July 27.

It isn't full until May 15th when those acceptances actually decide to attend.

Still havent heard back from them about a screening/pool. Has anyone that submitted around the same time been screened already? Based on the previous posts, it looks like it takes about a month before you get the screening email but I could be wrong. Also, for those that have been screened do you mind sharing your stats? Or PM-ing it? Thanks!

Entered primary screening: 10/7
Rejection by email: 11/08 🙁

I was complete on the exact same day as you. I havent received an email yet about being pooled. I think it does take about a month, so we should get some sort of response soon.

Yeah... I'm not exactly sure what's going on. I entered primary screening mid-September and haven't heard a word since. I'm thinking about e-mailing them since it's practically been 8 weeks.

Just got rejection email 🙁

3.5/28 URM reapplicant with a Masters now

Kind of scary because the first time they rejected me was in April. Now they reject me in November. Feeling kind of depressed 🙁

I'm sorry 🙁 Maybe they are not as kind to reapplicants? Did you ask them why they rejected you last time? Perhaps there is something specific they were looking for.

Good Luck with the rest of your schools!:luck:

No I didn't ask them. It's a bummer 🙁 I feel like they are a lot more competitive this cycle than they were two years ago.

Has anyone who interviewed 10/12 or around then heard about a decision yet?

invited for an interview, withdrew. hope someone else gets my spot soon...

yeah, it's with a bittersweet feeling that i'm withdrawing my acceptance from here. I hope it goes to a SDNer! 👍

Anyone who gets to interview here, please go visit with an open mind. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how amazingly new and nice the renovated facilities are. I was also really touched by the camaraderie among the students and how happy everyone seemed to be. That's one of my biggest considerations for med school. That and the $$. 😳

Good luck and best wishes to the rest of you! :luck::xf:

So true! I loved the facilities, and this was one of the few schools (at least, in my experience) to actually show interviewees the gross anatomy lab, which blew. my. mind.

Hoping to hear about decisions soon!! :xf:

Does anybody know if CMS is gay-friendly?

at least i dodged that wave of rejections 🙂

good luck on the rest of your cycle to those that got rejected.

Recently interviewed here. Loved the school, facilities, and the people. Everyone was so nice. This school has a lot going for them. I'm really hoping for an acceptance :xf: Now it's just another waiting game.

So, do you guys think that people who have interviewed will get a decision today? The ppl in last year's thread found out around this time :xf::xf:
